Remember, the American people have spoken. They want a strong country, competent leaders, common sense policies, and a commitment to putting America and Americans First. Let's give the people what they voted for.

Congress has failed our country. Our out-of-control spending has jeopardized our economy, our security, our leadership in the world, and, worst of all, compromised our children’s future and the blessing of their inheritance of freedom and opportunity. If Washington doesn’t have the political will to rein in spending, we must allow an Article V convention of states to establish a constitutional amendment to balance the budget, impose fiscal responsibility on Congress, and finally Reverse the Curse of our unsustainable national debt.

In November of last year, West Texas veteran Sgt. Benjamin Joseph James contacted my district office seeking assistance in receiving a Purple Heart for combat injuries sustained during a 2010 deployment to Afghanistan. We worked closely with the Department of the Army to help secure the recognition he earned on the battlefield and recently hosted Sgt. James and his family in our Abilene district office for a private ceremony presenting his Purple Heart. Sgt. James is a living testament to sacrifice, courage, valor, and patriotism. Veterans like him represent the very best of West Texas and the American fighting spirit.

Last year, I was proud to deliver historic wins for American agriculture through passage of the One Big Beautiful Bill — strengthening the farm safety net with a historic $66 billion investment, boosting reference prices and crop insurance, promoting trade, and securing long-overdue SNAP reforms. This week, we’re building on that success with the 2026 Farm Bill. This year’s Farm Bill authorizes the remaining agriculture programs not included in H.R. 1 and advances key provisions I’ve fought for — including my USDA CROP Act to give producers a stronger voice in pesticide decisions and a pilot crop insurance program that will incentivize farmers to bring their cotton to harvest. It strengthens trade promotion, supports new farmers, invests in conservation and precision agriculture, and continues holding states accountable for SNAP mismanagement. After years of Farm Bill inaction — with Democrats holding our farmers hostage to protect bloated and broken welfare programs — we changed the equation. By securing the core agriculture reforms last year, we removed the political leverage that had long blocked meaningful change and we delivered real results for Rural America. West Texas producers deserve certainty. The Farm Bill should be about farmers — and that’s exactly what Republicans are delivering.

The terrorist Iranian regime overplayed their hand. They thought they were dealing with the old order of American foreign policy. House Budget Chairman @RepArrington released the following statement after the Supreme Court of the United States ruled on the Trump Administration’s tariff authority.

The Trump administration is enacting the single largest deregulatory action in American history, taking direct aim at the heart of the Left’s radical climate agenda. This errant and overreaching Obama-era regulation imposed a $1 trillion cost on taxpayers and threw a wet blanket on our economy by making it exorbitantly more expensive to produce goods. Congress must codify this decision, and I look forward to leading the charge in the House to get it done.

Let’s put the affordability debate to bed - Biden’s failed policies of regulate and spend created the worst inflation in almost a half a century with inflation topping out at more than 9 percent during his term. In stark contrast, President Trump and Republican policies of less taxes, regulation, and spending have helped cut inflation to 2.4 percent - half the Biden average. On top of that, the economy grew at a 4.4 percent clip, according to the most recent GDP report, versus 1.9 percent in the fourth quarter of Biden’s final year. Real wages have already increased 1.2 percent under Trump after declining 1.4 percent over Biden’s presidency, and working families are enjoying the largest tax refund in United States history. Democrats are fighting President Trump for using the authority Congress gave him to promote and defend America's economic and national security interests. For decades, other major economies have charged us double our tariff rate. That's not free trade; that's a lousy deal for American workers and farmers. President Trump is leveling the playing field, reducing the trade deficit, driving exports to record highs, and restoring fairness and strength to America's trade policy.

Only American citizens should decide American elections. Requiring proof of citizenship to register and a valid photo ID to vote is as common sense as it gets. Even one illegal vote is too many.
