We need to send the clearest possible message that if they refuse to serve the people, we reject them in totality.
If your argument is that they're just controlled opposition, then why bother supporting them just to lose more slowly? The GOP and MAGA/Trump and all institutions with any association to them are false hopes that need to be utterly dispelled for any true movement to come to fruition.
They are either incompetent, or outright evil. The stupid or evil distinction DOESN'T MATTER. Either means they're existential ENEMIES.

Only 'ex cathedra' statements made by the Pope must be followed by Catholics, and it's been over 70 years since the last one was issued. Everything else the Pope says is just an opinion. It still carries weight, yes, but it is not an infallible part of Church doctrine.
