@_PhilippLahm21_ Im sure Kompany & staff has different plans how to press effectively but still with more caution because of Mbappé-Vini duo upfront.

In the second half, the only objective was to ”get the job done.” Bayern did that very well, and several young players were able to make their debuts also. The Guerreiro–Goretzka partnership managed to disrupt Atalanta’s defensive shape from the middle, which actually suited both players nicely. Nothing special was needed, but a win is a win. Credits to Kompany for always finding that midfield balance for each and every matchup. #UCL #BAYATA

Great news for Bayern! Already wrote about him couple weeks ago. This is how I see his potential future role in Kompany’s Bayern’s setup.👀 x.com/tacticsti/stat…

🚨💥 EXCL | Noel Aseko back to FC Bayern - DONE DEAL ✔️ Bayern have activated the buy-back option for #Aseko. Hannover 96 had previously exercised their purchase option. 20 y/o midfield talent will get the chance to prove himself during pre-season under Vincent Kompany but his future is still open. A sale in the summer is possible if a suitable offer arrives, especially as Bayern are actively searching a successor to Leon Goretzka. Concrete candidates include Kennet Eichhorn, Nathan De Cat, and others. @kerry_hau @SkySportDE 🇩🇪🇬🇶

@DSsebbowa Think he’ll be hybrid just like Bischof this season. While Tom will have more permanent job behind Pavlo-Kimmich

@TacticsTI But we are signing a RB in Reid. I think Nseko will have to compete with Bischof for the midfield

Noël Aséko Nkili | FC Bayern Munich Loanee At Hannover 96 Analysis: 🇩🇪 • I do not see Nkili as a pure replacement for Leon Goretzka. ❌ • He is exactly the kind of midfield profile that could be adapted into a proper right back in Vincent Kompany’s system. 🔄 • He has excellent stamina, is comfortable on the ball for a midfielder, and can cover a lot of ground. On top of that, he has produced goals and assists in an H96 shirt. 🔋 • He also seems to thrive and be most productive in that right half-space at Hannover.⚡️ It is easier for Kompany to integrate these young midfielders because there is a pathway for them at fullback, a role that is not drastically different from playing in midfield at Bayern. For the double pivot, I see a more natural fit in someone like Javi Fernández. The club is also reportedly interested in Kenneth Eichhorn. Because of this, I believe Nkili will finally get a genuine opportunity next season, although it may come in a different position. What are your thoughts on this?

@TacticsTI I disagree because we're not just looking at yesterday's game. In my opinion the only reason we didn't penetratec is because of personnel. If Kane and Gnabry started, I believe it would have been a different take. Problem is we don't have a striker that does half of what he does

Leverkusen 1–1 FC Bayern From an all-around chaotic Bundesliga match, with disallowed goals and red cards thrown into the mix, we once again saw that version of Bayern that circulates the ball around the flanks but simply cannot find a way to penetrate through the middle. Leverkusen’s game plan worked perfectly, and they have to be the more disappointed side with this result. In the end, though, they largely did it to themselves. Andrich, who otherwise played a very solid match, had a brief moment of complete lapse and played the ball back straight to Michael Olise. Still, in my view the club is on a good path, but the road back into the title race is still a long one. From Bayern’s side, Sven Ulreich deserves special mention after playing his first competitive match in 539 days. He basically saved that point for Bayern. #B04BAY

Yes, it's true and as I said, things happened in the game that, considering, Bayern can be "quite" happy with the result. Kompany did what he could by making the team compete one man down whole 45 minutes. Leverkusen is still a strong team even though the league position is not the same as in previous years. But the beginning of the game I think their game plan worked perfectly against Bayern.

@TacticsTI The mid block was excellently implemented by hjulmand. We had absolutely no chance. But had it been 11v11 it would have been different in 2nd half with the changes.. too bad. It will give us more experience come the pokal tie...

@nanakweso9 Yeah and I mean after that 6-1 Atalanta win, the game was whole different. Long season these games can happen. I dont think its catastrophy. Leverkusen are a good side even if they haven’t performed that strong this season in the Bundesliga.

@nanakweso9 Yeah I watched, but tbh there was only some of these moments. Overall I rate it pretty poor performance, but considering all these reds & disallowed goals, 1-1 draw was ok!

@TacticsTI From the 20th minute on Bayern began to penetrate centrally by using tight space combinations on consistent basis then shortly after there was the red card-don’t know of you watched. In the second half we had good transitions.

This is why Bayern can never have anything nice in the long term. It happens every single time, whether it’s with coaches or competent people in the sporting management. Still, I’m not fully convinced about these rumors either. This kind of news always seems to surface during the most crucial phase for Bayern. That’s not a coincidence. Make of that what you will.
Bayern & Germany@iMiaSanMia

Max Eberl's work is still viewed critically by some of the higher-ups. So critically, in fact, that a contract extension is uncertain and a separation is possible. Eberl's contract expires in June 2027. Internally, Eberl is accused, among other things, of spending too much money on contract extensions and signing fees. Players and agents have been raking in the cash at FC Bayern for years Another point of criticism: there's no genuine relationship of trust between Eberl and the club's powerful figures on the supervisory board. Eberl sometimes fails to engage with the board and informs them too late. He is accused of acting unilaterally. Furthermore, it is said internally that Eberl does not negotiate as hard as Rummenigge and Hoeneß used to, which ultimately costs Bayern a significant amount of money On the plus side, Eberl has made some good decisions since taking office in March 2024: the signing of Kompany, for example, as well as the transfers of Michael Olise, Luis Díaz, and Jonathan Tah. However, the club's bosses feel a lack of genuine cooperation. Internally, it is regularly heard that there are different factions within the club – and that could jeopardize sporting success in the long run. Should Eberl's contract not be extended, CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen and sporting director Christoph Freund would likely assume his duties. No new appointments are currently planned. Dreesen and Freund, whose contracts also expire in 2027, have a very good chance of being extended. Eberl, however, is once again under pressure. His future is to be decided at the supervisory board meeting in mid-August [@_kochmaximilian, @Abendzeitung]

I mean how are you supposed to defend with man-to-man system, when you don’t even know who you’re marking, for how long, in which areas, or how far up the pitch you’re supposed to follow them? On top of that, none of the players’ movements were repetitive. The decisions they made showed a huge amount of imagination. At times it feels like Bayern’s attacking play isn’t coached at all and that the players simply hold the keys themselves, but that’s not actually the case. Vincent Kompany has just managed to get his players moving constantly, and everyone on the pitch knows how to improvise. Yet their actions still look as if they were pre-planned between the players every single time. In the Champions League people were saying about Kompany: ”you can’t play like this or like that.” On the contrary, in my opinion Kompany has pushed this idea of positionless play even further, especially in Champions League matches. From here on, heading into the quarter-finals, it will be very interesting to see how this continues. #ATABAY #UCL

@TacticsTI We witnessed the managed chaos in the perfect way, though the defensive approach from Atalanta wasn't good enough. Each of them had always scanned the situation, positioned where he should be, and known what he should do next.

@UpaDavies 100% true this is actually the phase you need your second #9 to carry some of that burden so your main guy can be at his best in the most crucial matches. In earlier seasons it has felt that Kane suffered a bit from tiring amount of minutes.

@TacticsTI Maybe the most important aspect of yesterdays match. Huge for Jacksons confidence and huge for the confidence of his teammates and coaches in him. Having a good replacement for Kane makes sure that he is always 100% for the important matches

This was truly the best performance of Nicolas Jackson in a Bayern shirt so far. Against Atalanta’s defense, he might have been the best option for the #9 position in this particular match. Jackson/Gnabry didn’t exactly create biggest of trust before the match, but credit where its due: they both delivered big time! #ATABAY #UCL
