About that.. what would you say if Bayern sign a top centre-back like Gvardiola and a top left-back like Brown this summer to replace Min-Jae and Itō while spending much less for the left-winger and striker ? Different plan but would it be ideal ?

Bayern tried to disrupt Stuttgart’s man-marking by constantly shuffling players over the pitch. Stuttgart happily lets Urbig have the ball, since Bayern does not have alot movement behind their defensive line apart from Luis Diaz. If they avoid mistakes, Stuttgart should theoretically tire with this gameplan eventually, but based on the first half it’s honestly hard to say they even look that fatigued. Bayern simply aren’t threatening Stuttgart’s line enough, nor are they committing enough players into those areas. Urbig’s long balls have been aimless, and Musiala, Kane, and Olise clearly aren’t at their best in the kind of tactical battle these Stuttgart-Bayern matches tend to become. Tennis with Goalkeepers. Bayern need to find Stanisic and Laimer more effectively. Stuttgart’s structure leaves spaces that Bayern’s fullbacks often interpret well, but so far they just haven’t been found consistently enough. #BAYVFB

John Stones to Bayern really was the most obvious yet surprising free deal to happen 😂 Had that feeling early on that Kompany could be eager to work again with his old friend & defensive partner. For depth & the dressing room, why not? Still elite with the ball at his feet.

We spent close to nothing last summer, and now also have 10 players on the sale list. We’re Bayern Munich, why won’t we not get both Gordon and Gvardiol on the same window and a jewel in midfield like Eichhorn?

Julian Nagelsmann needs to understand already that he shouldn’t abandon his philosophy every time the media noise gets louder. From the outside, it genuinely starts to look like his decisions can be manipulated by outside pressure, and that never reflects well. Build the team around the best individual quality available, then elevate it with your own tactical ability, because there’s no doubt you have that. You can coach a side, but lately I don’t think you’ve been doing it in the best possible way. You can also see it in the team’s performances. The best players, or the ones who truly deserve it most on form, aren’t always the ones playing. And honestly, what is this obsession with “roles”? Players naturally define their own roles, both on and off the pitch. You can’t control absolutely everything. But the most important thing, the style of play and tactical structure, that is yours to control, and that’s exactly what you should focus on. Expectations are high because Germany genuinely have the quality to succeed. But there are also plenty of reasons why things could just as easily fall apart. That’s why, taking the circumstances into account, I’d see this as Germany’s strongest possible XI right now. It fits Julian Nagelsmann’s style of play, and it already has some built-in chemistry and automatisms developed from the Euros. It would also preserve the Kimmich (RB) & Pavlović double pivot in the 2-2 / 3-1 buildup phase deeper in possession. Nagelsmann is never going to get any other XI of German internationals any more capable of pressing like his club sides did, so at some point he should let go of that mindset.

Talks between João Palhinha and Sporting CP over a return to Lisbon are progressing well. The main sticking point is reaching an agreement with FC Bayern on whether it will be a loan deal with an option to buy or a permanent deal. Tottenham have a €30m option to buy, and manager Roberto De Zerbi would like to keep Palhinha, but the player's preference is a return to Portugal [@abolapt]

I don't know if going to the WC will be the best decision for him. Of course one last try would feel nice, but this german team isn't something extraordinary like france, so if Neuer goes and ends up exiting the tournament early, that wouldn't look good for him.
