@realstockfox @blueorigin Billions in market cap from delays and concerns. Should be assumed that they have insurance for the loss of the satellite, but will be nothing compared to the stock price.

@erdtlccc @Maxarick The biggest problem the USA has is corruption, not priorities. Spending 50+ billion on a nonexistent bullet train is a 12x bigger problem than NASA funding new product development

@Maxarick Let me get this straight, billions of $, spent on this project, "to go see whether the moon is still there and come back" , when many veterans are unemployed and homeless. With all critical issues in the country. I don't think this is a win.

@DJSnM Do we know exactly where they had intended to “come back”? Let’s not confuse accuracy with precision. Starship calls for lots of precision and accuracy.

Reporting that "They've never seen anything come back so accurately" tells you that they somehow haven't see Starship landing near the cameras in the ocean.

I remember believing that the reason all of the post space shuttle rockets used space shuttle components was to keep the jobs at the same locations they were during the space shuttle operation. It had to do with getting blessings from politicians and the financial supporters of the politicians.

I am unclear as to why we would want to take the HLS starship from the lunar surface and back into orbit. The advantage of the starship HLS. It’s an incredible cargo handling capacity. And it’s incredible passenger capacity. Neither of those are well serviced by an Orion Moon-to-Earth return vehicle. Would you want to launch the HLS starship to lunar orbit with all of its payload, and then just turn around and bring it back to lunar surface? What we need is a lightweight surface to lunar orbit vehicle. This would be carried to lunar surface in the HLS Starship. HLS would be used once and then salvaged as Moonbase parts.

First talks about potentially ditching NRHO. This is currently not possible with SLS Block 1 and Orion with its current ESM. To park in LLO, Orion would need a stretched service module or if Centaur V could use a mission extension package, it could do the lunar insertion burn

Where is most energy used on Earth? If you can use the energy off-Earth to the same effect, then this is a huge boon. Musk is talking about replacing future Earthbound data centers with data centers in orbit. That’s a start. I would like to see metals and battery manufacture moved into orbit. Get the pollution out of here and send down finished goods.

ELON MUSK: "Space solar actually costs less than terrestrial solar because you don't need heavy glass or framing to protect it from extreme weather events. So as soon as the cost to orbit drops to a low number, it immediately makes extremely compelling sense to put AI in space. It becomes a no brainer. Basically, more of a as you go to space, you get increased economies of scale, and things get easier over time, whereas as you try to put more and more power on the ground, you run out of space and you start using up the easy spots, and then you get next level. Nobody wants the thing in their backyard. So then increasing power on earth has becomes harder over time and more expensive over time, but in space it becomes actually cheaper and easier over time."

Breakthroughs in energy will train AI and produce robots at cheap costs and drive down the costs of goods/services to marginal cost of electricity. Governments will send checks and there will not be inflation as long as good/services output increases dramatically, which it should. The future is gonna be bumpy, but confident we'll find a way to thread the needle.

The WA House vote (51-46) was on Senate Bill 6346: a new 9.9% state income tax on household adjusted gross income over $1 million/year (inflation-adjusted, married couples share the threshold). It passed after 24+ hours of debate/amendments. If signed, it starts Jan 2028 (collections 2029) to fund schools, healthcare & safety. Now back to Senate for final OK. Washington has had no broad income tax before.
