Let it be known only terrorists are openly allowed to carry guns in Nigeria. As citizens are massacred proudly Nigeria security forces prevent citizens from defending their families.

@AnkhEAMM @seanfeucht In these attacks, especially those carried out by terrorists during Easter, all the victims are Christians. These terrorists have always claimed to be Muslims and always chant Allahu Arkbar during these attacks.

2026 EASTER MESSAGE FROM THE HONOURABLE CHAIRMAN, INDEPENDENT NATIONAL ELECTORAL COMMISSION (INEC) TO THE STAFF A SEASON OF SACRIFICE AND RENEWAL: Dear National Commissioners, the Secretary to the Commission, Resident Electoral Commissioners, Directors, Administrative Secretaries, and our esteemed staff across the Federation, As we join millions across the globe and here at home to celebrate Easter, I extend my warmest greetings to you and your families. Easter is a profound season that speaks to the triumph of hope over despair, the power of sacrifice, and the promise of renewal. For us at the Commission, these themes are not merely spiritual; they are the very pillars upon which our service to the nation rests. The story of Easter is one of unwavering commitment to a higher purpose. In much the same way, your work at INEC often performed under demanding conditions and away from the comfort of your homes is a testament to your sacrifice for our democracy. Whether in our local government offices or the headquarters, your labour ensures that the light of democracy continues to burn bright. Reflecting on the first quarter of 2026, I am heartened by the professionalism you displayed during the FCT Area Council Elections. We have shown that when we work together, we do more than just conduct polls; we restore the people's faith in democratic institutions. As we look toward the forthcoming off-cycle elections and the critical milestones in our 2027 roadmap, let this season of renewal inspire a fresh dedication to our duties. Our mandate to protect the sovereign will requires a spirit that does not tire. Let us use this period to recharge our collective resolve to build an electoral ecosystem that is transparent. Just as Easter promises a new beginning, we are continuously working to ensure that your workplace is one where excellence is rewarded, discipline is upheld, and every staff member is equipped with the tools to succeed in this digital era of election management. I urge you to let the lessons of Easter-peace, love, and selfless service- guide your interactions with all stakeholders. By maintaining the highest standards of neutrality and professionalism, you become the true ambassadors of transparency and the rule of law. I pray that this Easter brings peace to your homes and renewed strength to your hearts. May we continue to work together, in unity and faith, to build an INEC that remains the pride of our nation and a beacon for democracy across the continent. Happy Easter to you all. God bless the hardworking INEC Staff. God bless INEC. God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Professor Joash O. Amupitan, SAN Honourable Chairman, INEC April 6, 2026

Why… why does it have to be like this, especially on a day meant for life, for hope, for resurrection On this very day of Easter, when we are meant to celebrate victory over death, the sound of grief rises again from Mbalom, from Gwer East, from the hearts of innocent people whose only desire is to live in peace Seventeen lives… and still counting Families torn apart Homes reduced to ashes Voices silenced Children missing Mothers crying into the night What kind of pain is this that refuses to end What kind of darkness keeps chasing light even on a holy day like this Oh God, where are the answers Why must your children keep suffering like this Why must blood speak louder than prayers in our land My heart is heavy beyond words I weep for every life lost I ache for every mother who will not see her child again I mourn for every family left in silence and fear Lord, please receive the souls of the departed into Your eternal peace Wipe the tears of Your people Comfort the brokenhearted And let Your justice rise, because this pain is too much for human hearts to carry On this Easter day, instead of songs of joy, we cry Instead of celebration, we mourn But even in this darkness, we hold on to You, Lord Because You are the only hope we have left May Your light find Mbalom May Your peace find Benue And may this suffering not be in vain Amen 💔

What happened today in Ariko community, Kachia LGA, Kaduna State, Nigeria, is heartbreaking. Terrorists attacked worshippers during Easter Sunday services at St. Augustine Catholic Church and the nearby First ECWA Church, killing at least seven innocent people and abducting several others, including women and children. This senseless violence turned a day meant for celebration and resurrection into one of grief and fear for the community. Attacks on Christian gatherings have sadly become recurring in the Middle Belt region. They will still tell you it’s not religiously related.🤦🏽‍♀️💔

Thank you, America… through Alex Barbir. In a time when everything we called home was reduced to ruins, when fear and pain tried to silence our hope, your kindness found us. You did not turn away from our brokenness. You reached into our suffering and helped us begin again. Because of you, shattered walls are rising once more, and hearts that were once filled with despair are slowly learning to hope again. What was destroyed by violence is being rebuilt through love. We will never forget this compassion. In the midst of darkness, you became a light for us.
