The Polygamist is based on a novel by the talented Sue Nyathi. She is Zimbabwean and has lived in SA for years now. I encourage everyone to read her second novel: The Golddiggers. It's about Zim migrant lives in the City of Gold, Joburg. It will teach you empathy & understanding
The xenophobic attacks and killings targeting Black African immigrants in South Africa continue with the apparent blessing of the South African government. What makes these atrocities even more harrowing is that the police are frequently present at the scenes, either supervising the attacks and killings or standing idly by as innocent lives are brutally taken, without any real effort to protect the vulnerable.
@Nomonde_chom@kunenephindz I read a book by Ezekiel Mphahlele back in early 90s when SA was still under apartheid. It opened by eyes to apartheid and its evils. I really enjoyed that book Down Second Avenue. Its sad to judge anyone's writing based on their geographical location, actually its stupid
@kunenephindz I'm not reading anything written by a Zimbabwean about a Zimbabwean.. we have writers in South Africa she is not bringing any scarce skill.. fxck her!
Here is the untold truth.
In the small businesses owned by foreigners, it ie us South Africans who are buying with our money.
These people came with their brothers to work in their shops, they didn't even hired us.
They are not improving our economy, they are stealing and useless.
@nickmangwana That is about 10-11 buses only. Why not hire a train nhai guys. Get our people out of that country pliz. The urgency should not be rhetorical chete. We have the largest number of citizens in SA and we have only repatriated 660? Do something
The Government of Zimbabwe, like any administration that truly values its people, holds the safety and well-being of its nationals as a matter of deepest concern. To date, we have been able to repatriate 660 of our citizens from South Africa, and we remain committed to supporting all those who wish to return home. If you or someone you know requires assistance, please do not hesitate to reach out to our embassy and consulates. We will leave no one behind.
@ali_naka Zimbabwe case in point. This is a useless idea cos he has no proper plan after taking them, what must we do, who gets them n who doesn’t, who runs them, how, are people trained n ready to take over.
You can’t take without a proper plan in place. Cut your nose to spite your face🙄
@savndaniel They are watching the World Cup on DSTV and tweeting from a phone with MTN, both SA companies . Clowns 😂 No country accepts illegal migration , why should SA be the exception !
I do not like the following arguments other Africans make when South Africans make Valid points about illegal immigration:
1) No African is illegal in Africa
2) We helped you during apartheid
3) You are not land owners
4)you are lazy
I lived under the most ruthless military rule of Robert Mugabe, now ED Mnangagwa, i saw all the tactics play before my eyes, especially the propaganda on media for voters manipulation, Land grabs of 2000 were part of the strategy, this made me very politically conscious till now
The decision to issue a diplomatic passport belongs to the Somali state.
Omar has represented Somalia with distinction throughout his professional career and has been an outstanding ambassador for the country. Supporting him and facilitating his international travel is the very least Somalia can do after everything he has done to bring honor, pride, and recognition to the nation on the global stage.
>> I find it odd that I even have to explain this to a minister. One would expect this to be basic knowledge at that level. 🫢
South Africa’s Sports Minister Gayton McKenzie has reacted strongly to reports involving referee Omar Artan and claims about a diplomatic passport.
He told Robert Marawa:
“The information we got is that this ref (Omar Artan) travelled on a diplomatic passport. He’s not a diplomat. Let’s start there. Even if I am the President, I’ll not allow him in the country. What is this ref doing with a diplomatic passport? Is he a politician?”
𝐖𝐎𝐖! 𝐈 𝐀𝐌 𝐒𝐏𝐄𝐄𝐂𝐇𝐋𝐄𝐒𝐒 𝐇𝐄𝐑𝐄!!!

South Africa’s Sports Minister Gayton McKenzie told Robert Marawa this:
“Infantino has been the best person for African football. His relationship with Trump isn’t our business. He has been very kind to Africa. I don’t care about his relationship with Trump. This World Cup is not what people think.”
“I respect America’s rules. Did everyone in South Africa get their visas? Yes, so what’s the problem?”
“People, for example in Ghana, say Bafana Bafana must lose and you think if they stop a Ghanaian referee, I will care? Maybe you (Marawa) have a kind heart, but me, no!”
“If South Africa is sorted, our players are sorted, my team is sorted with visas, that’s it.”

@MickyJnr__ Gayton is correct usa was talking nonsense about South Africa they never said anything
Now they want to include SA in their problems
The entitlement is amazing
Summary. I don't give a f**k about what USA & FIFA did as long as it doesn't affect SA.
Some things, the minister, as a diplomat should leave to thugs likes Ngizwe to say. In diplomatic platforms such statements will put you at a strategic disadvantage esp where you need diplomatic solidarity
@Leokoni@PedzisaiRuhanya I am laughing to myself zvangu. All the replies so far have avoided answering the question you asked including the author of the post himself. When bad things happen to vulnerable people, we must speak out. Some SAns have spoken out against the xenophobes, some haven't
@PedzisaiRuhanya Are South African players speaking against xenophobia that is happening in their country? Foreigners are being harrasssed and some sleeping in the bush running away from the marauding vigilantism. What is your take on that? How do you think the victims are feeling towards that?
South African players, the football association have not chased away Zimbos who trade there. Lets avoid getting excitable and being seduced by xenopobe midgets to troll gallant SA players at the World Cup. Those players deserve support from fellow Africans. Viva Bafana Bafana
@OmamaYinka12598@tobyasky Black Africa boycotted world cup 1966 for SA. That should be enough evidence we love each other. They are a few who dont, some SAns are part of that few. Go figure
@desmaefa@nhanha_nd@go2uj Then by all means go back to school and earn a doctorate. And then you will be able to remove one of the foreigners from his/her job, to hell with their contract with whatever university the foreigner you intend to replace is at. Good luck with that.
FOREIGN NATIONALS IN SOUTH AFRICAN UNIVERSITIES: NEW DATA REVEALS OVER 7,000 ACADEMICS EMPLOYED
A recent set of records shared with the Portfolio Committee on Higher Education has revealed detailed figures on the employment of foreign nationals within South Africa’s public universities.
According to the documentation, by 2025 more than 7,000 foreign academics were employed across the country’s public higher education institutions. The data shows that Zimbabwean nationals make up the largest share at 27%, followed by Nigerian academics at 14%.
The University of Johannesburg reportedly recorded the highest number of foreign-employed academics, with over 1,400 individuals listed in the records.
The information is currently being reviewed and a more detailed breakdown is expected to be released in an upcoming report.
The disclosure has been attributed to authorisation from Chairperson Hon. Letsie, MP, through the Secretary of the Portfolio Committee on Higher Education, enabling access to the documents for public scrutiny and reporting purposes.
Further analysis is expected to shed more light on the distribution and roles of foreign academics across South Africa’s public university system.
@desmaefa@nhanha_nd@go2uj Most of these lecturers are in STEM areas and are professors and Drs not masters holders. Perhaps you need to go back to school and be taught by the very foreigners who are taking your job. Ironic isnt it?
