As we mark Nursing Week, it was a pleasure to speak with students and faculty at Langara College earlier today. In my remarks, I highlighted our government’s investments to strengthen nursing education in our province and support the next generation of healthcare professionals.

At Parallel 49 Brewing, we talked about how our decision to extend alcohol tax relief for two more years is helping local brewers grapple with tariff-related cost increases. Good news for local brewers, local jobs, and your favourite pint. 🍻🇨🇦

AI is already helping Canadian companies solve real problems, improve services and compete globally. Today in Vancouver, we announced $66 million in support for 44 Canadian companies through the AI Compute Access Fund to help them access the compute power they need to scale and grow here in Canada. Canadian talent. Canadian innovation. Today’s ribbon cutting marks the opening of 10,000 sq. ft. of new space at the Sunset Community Centre. Thanks to over $10M in federal support, our seniors can now enjoy two new multipurpose rooms for large events, a commercial kitchen, a fitness room, and so much more.

Great to be with @EvanLSolomon today for a full slate of AI and tech events. We started at TELUS announcing sovereign AI data centre clusters in Kamloops and Vancouver, joined a DIGITAL roundtable with tech leaders, and wrapped with opening remarks at Web Summit Day One.

Last summer, LNG Canada @lngcanada shipped Canadian natural gas to global markets from our Pacific coast for the first time — marking the beginning of a chapter in Canadian energy trade where we sent our resources across the ocean, not just across the border.   Today, I visited the LNG Canada facility in Kitimat to see firsthand the scale of this world-class project, the skilled crews making it happen, and the work that goes into positioning Canada as an energy superpower.   This is what it looks like when Canada builds. 🇨🇦

Here’s what I got up to this week.

I was honoured to witness today’s blessing ceremony at Sen̓áḵw, which will welcome new families into 6,000 much-needed new homes in VanGran. This is reconciliation in action: an Indigenous-led project on Squamish lands delivering housing built at the scale our communities need.

Canada stands in solidarity with the Lebanese people and Lebanese territorial integrity. I spoke with President Aoun earlier and condemned Israel’s illegal invasion and Hezbollah’s continued attacks on Israel. I expressed my strong support for Lebanon’s efforts to disarm Hezbollah and underscored the importance of maintaining a meaningful ceasefire and creating conditions for displaced civilians to return home safely.

From generations who helped build our communities to the leaders shaping our future today, Asian Canadians are woven into the fabric of our city and nation. This Asian Heritage Month, we celebrate those contributions and the many more to come. Happy Asian Heritage Month!

Today’s agreement between Airbus and AirAsia is the largest single order of commercial aircraft in Canada’s history. 150 Airbus A220-300 aircraft will be built by Canadian workers on Canadian factory floors — supporting thousands of careers across Canada and here in Mirabel, from the skilled trades to engineering.

A hardworking host, proud family man, and someone who made people feel at home the moment they walked in. Vancouver’s Greek community lost a giant with the passing of Andreas Arsoniadis. May he rest in peace.
