Throwing a question out there. I want to play a new game that has the feeling of Mario 64 or Celeste or Nine sols, Im not looking for a insane level of complexity but a good challenge.

@broskiFGC Oh modern gets every version of a 3 button special move now? That's huge I remember JP being super awkward. I don't fully see the benefit for non charge characters but I guess in a way the damage reduction doesn't hit her as hard since she always needs an extra hit?

modern aki used to be awful since she had no access to tons of vital combos (most notably she had no way of doing a light into MP lash) but thats since been fixed she still lacks a few tools (6HP, 2MP, 5LK, LK/HK slide, LK/MK flip) but imo the only big loss now is 2MP

@crossknockout @broskiFGC can you share a bit on modern Aki? Thought she'd be one the last modern characters? What does she lose and how does it impact her doesn't modern make you lose one of her whip lengths?

@NYChrisG grats again on EWC qualifier sorry tourney was rough. I really have no clue what the solution is in the future for evo japan it seems so hard with the huge difference of SF vrs rest of games... But god its fun to see the best compete

Back to my room. Collecting my thoughts. Starving and tired. So im just gonna rant. I wanna start by saying Japan has been amazing. So much fun to be had. So many things to do and see. This is my first time in japan, so Im taking the time to enjoy it, and I am. As for evo japan.......... ive been told this is always a garbage tournament. Ive been told almost every event japan throws is garbage. But I had to see for myself. Instantly, I had issues. And this isnt even including not being able to get inside LOL. From 930 am pools, there were issues. Dqs and stuff were so late, I was able to show up almost an hour later, cause things started late, and I had a bye (which is cool). But things still took long. So long in fact, my games overlapped. The way the japanese people run the tournament, it seems everything has to be done so professionally and precise, that even a simple thing has to go through 3 chains of command. Nobody here makes their own decision (even if its super tiny). So as you can tell, things took long, And sometimes can get a little annoying. Turn this way, look here, rules rules rules directions directions directions. I just wanna play the game and be on my way. I dont care about anything else. 2xko was just oooof in general. Honestly speaking, I don't think ive seen one 2xko tournament ran well. Idk if its the game, the staff, riot employees, ps5. Everything just sucks, this tournament was no different. Also doing the tournament an entire day is oooof. I had entered granblue and kof as well, but I could easily tell from seeing the schedule and how things were running how rough that wouldve been. Honestly mightve been impossible. So I dqed myself. If I wouldve been in sf6? LOLLLLLLLLLLL Now Fatal Fury. Whole day going to top 8, then top 8 first thing in the morning. Whoever thought of that? Absolute genius. At that point it mightve been better to do it in 1 day like 2xko. But somehow, I made it through the whole day. No food. 4 redbulls. Insane gameplay. Top 8. Awesome right? I get to eat right? Sike. Stand around for hours. By the time I was done, it was pretty much 11...... why did things take so long? Ur guess is as good as mine. For anyone who knows me, they know when It comes to food, im screwed 9 times out of 10. If I cant find a diner or something with just carb type of food, im dead. So the only thing I can get delivered was dominos. By the time I got my food, it was like 1230. I didnt even eat half of it. Couldn't anymore. But now I have to sleep. Gotta be there by 9am. Slept like 5 hours. Woke up dead. Got there 940. And the rest is history....... almost feels like I shouldve stayed sleeping............ Theres alot more details to mention, but I will talk about it on stream, like weird monitor color saturation, rules, controllers, so on and so forth. Crazy part? Its only 3pm on Saturday LOL. Im done, but peoples days are just starting. There can be more great stuff to mention. So I will be gathering all the news to talk about it. I might go back to the venue tomorrow..... but idk if I wanna play 9am marvel side tournament lol. Overall, i think if this tournament wasnt in japan, it might be safe to say this event would be a wash. Sucks cause theres alot of good people involved..... too bad realistically it doesnt/didnt matter. Now, I can try to really eat something lol

This graph has circulated since covid and I still have zero clue how to properly read it Why are there more rows than states? Why do some rows have no data until a certain year?
