Speaking at the Africa CEO Forum Presidential Panel yesterday evening in Kigali, I re-emphasised that Africa must put Africa first whilst creating opportunities for intra-Africa collaboration between our countries. Our continent cannot build scale by looking outward first. We must invest in one another, trade more with one another, build the corridors that connect our markets, ensure our innovative youthful population get the support they need, and give African businesses the confidence to expand across African borders. Nigeria’s reforms are not only about fixing yesterday. They are about preparing our economy to lead in the Africa of tomorrow. With AfCFTA, digital trade, shared infrastructure, stronger logistics, commodities exchange, and deeper private sector partnerships, we can turn Africa’s population and resources into real continental prosperity. The global risk and financial architecture must also give Africa a fair deal that recognises our local nuances and contexts. I thank my brother, President Paul Kagame, for his warm hospitality and for Rwanda’s continued leadership in showing what discipline, clarity and execution can do for development. Nigeria will continue to work with Rwanda and other African partners to build a continent that produces more, trades more, connects better, and competes with greater confidence in the world. Africa’s future will not be handed to us. We must build it, own it, and defend it together. ~ Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR

STATEHOUSE STATEMENT PRESIDENT TINUBU’S TRIBUTE TO GOVERNOR HYACINTH ALIA ON HIS 60TH BIRTHDAY   I congratulate Reverend Father Hyacinth Alia, an ordained priest and  Governor of Benue State, on his 60th birthday, celebrated on May 15.   Governor Alia's political journey is simply that of faith made manifest. Ordained a Catholic priest in 1990 by Bishop Athanasius Atule Usuh of Makurdi Catholic Diocese, Alia's principled character, compassion, and unwavering dedication to God and humanity have endeared him to the people of the state.   It was no surprise that his people, whom he had long served faithfully in the vineyard of the Most High, elected him as their governor in 2023, following in the footsteps of Very Reverend Father Moses Orshio Adasu, who served as governor of Benue State from 1992 to 1993.   I commend Governor Alia for his transformative efforts to industrialise the state and expand its road network. Benue State, famously Nigeria's food basket, now has tomato and fruit juice, beer, nylon and polythene factories, as well as a large-scale bakery, providing jobs for its people and adding value to its agricultural products. The iconic underpasses in Makurdi and Gboko have also eased traffic and improved urban life.   Under Alia's leadership, Benue has established a university of agriculture, science and technology and invested in improving facilities at the Benue State University Teaching Hospital.   I also commend the Reverend Father for ensuring peace and stability in Benue, and particularly for his peace-building initiatives and endeavours to foster unity among the people of the state and his political family.   Reverend Alia has demonstrated that when the pulpit comes to power, positive change is possible.    I encourage him to sustain and deepen his peace-building and security initiatives, expand welfare programmes, and continue infrastructure development to uplift even more people across Benue State.   As Reverend Alia celebrates this milestone, I join family, friends, and the people of Benue State in wishing him many more years of good health and strength as he continues to serve the state and the nation.   Bola Ahmed Tinubu President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Federal Republic of Nigeria May 14, 2026

Gbaja: Desmond Elliot’s role in Obasa impeachment nearly cost me chief of staff job Femi Gbajabiamila says he nearly lost his job as chief of staff to President Bola Tinubu during the Lagos assembly speakership crisis last year. In January 2025, Mudashiru Obasa was impeached as the speaker of the Lagos state house of assembly after a majority of legislators accused him of gross misconduct and abuse of office. Speaking on Thursday during the  All Progressives Congress (APC) stakeholders’ meeting in Lagos, Gbajabiamila said the involvement of @DesmondOElliot, lawmaker representing Surulere constituency 1 in the Lagos state house of assembly, in the impeachment plot nearly led to his removal as Tinubu’s chief of staff. “I almost lost my job as chief of staff last year because of Desmond Elliot. He’s alive today; you can go and verify with him,” Gbajabiamila said. thecable.ng/gbaja-desmond-…

So they have allegedly allocated choice lands in Abuja to Senior INEC officers. (Umpire Bought) They have already given duplexes to Judges in Abuja.(Linemen bought) They have given choice lands to Media houses and journalists in Abuja.(VAR bought) One thing they can't buy is the resilient resistance of 250 million people who have had enough. In 2027 Nigeria will either be OK or scattered.

Why do states have governors ? Local govt chairman? What is there use if the President intends on touring around to listen to problems. The hypocrites didn't tour around Anambra local govts, that has no chairman under his watch, he didn't listen to the problems of Anambra doctors who went on strike for 13 months, or the problems of students he told Education isn't for the poor, or the problems of the fire fighters he was paying 10naira hazardous allowance. Na now you wan go listen to people problem. Every state has a governor, senate and Rep members, House of assembly, lga chairs, councilors and village heads. This instruments are there for a reason. But yes. Say "listen to the people problems", your folks will clap for you. Because like you, they believe President of the country is the same as SUG president. But if by now you do not know the challange faced by Nigerians then you have nothing to go and do in aso rock

In an election where Peter Obi was a contestant in Anambra, Orji Uzor Kalu came to campaign for Obi's opponent. After the campaign, OUK drove back to the governor's lodge with Obi's opponent, ate lunch in Obi's house, and told Obi that he, OUK would replace him (Obi) with his opponent during the elections. All these happened while Obi was the Governor. Now you understand how Tinubu has destroyed the polity.

As a Nigerian American, I feel a type of secondhand embarrassment on behalf of the country. His head is more empty than I thought. The moderator was very courteous. A sign of her obvious respect for the grandpapa. She didn’t even press him too hard. You will notice her friendly disposition toward a Bola Tinubu. Mehdi Hasan won’t have been so lenient. The man leading a 250-million-population should be intellectually sound, not a vegetable. At 89, OBJ is still exceptional, as sharp as a razor. He would have used the opportunity to shine. He will do much better than Seyi’s father. His deep devotion to intellectual debates is beyond a shadow of a doubt. You can’t catch Aremu stumbling when it’s time to shine. A showstopper: he makes himself the showpiece. His charisma is still at its peak. His poise is at its crescendo. He has a type of magnetism & charisma, people can’t resist him. He would have set the agenda. Olusegun Obasanjo would have determined the energy in that hall. People should actually know when to quit. It is time for Bola Ahmed Tinubu to go home.

"Pls, I need serious advice. I know it's my mistake, but hear me out. A man came & proposed to me twice, & I rejected his proposal cuz I didn't have full information about his financial status. The guy was too impatient. Somehow he met my sister then went ahead & proposed her. Actually, he didn't know we're related. She accepted him so easily. They went ahead & got married. He only discovered when they came to see my parents for bride price that she's my little sister. The issue here is that the man is an accountant. He also runs businesses in the city. He is a rich man. When I ask for money from him, he tells me to pass through my sister. But when I go to my young sister, she will only give me ₦55k or sometimes 45k. Her husband gives her sometimes close to 700k from the businesses & She'll give my parents 150k & her husband's mom 150k too. But to me, she's been stingy. She doesn't know this man was actually mine. He proposed to me first. If I want, I can start telling him to go out with me. For him to propose to me first, it means he loves me more than her. She's very stubborn & boastful. On several occasions I've pleaded with my sister to equip my saloon of which it'll cost just about ₦900k to ₦1m but she keeps complaining that she's trying save money for her own business for now & necessarily doesn't want to ask from her husband... I'm actually the first born. Most times, i feel she's doing all these things especially giving our parents allowances every month as financial support and at the same time refusing to help me so i can also stand on my feet is cuz she wants to show off or probably belittle me, cuz i do not support our parents financially that much for now, since I'm not financially stable. It makes me feel so embarrassed. Please don't judge me, Every first born will understand me. I honestly feel so embarrassed & hurt as a first child. I'm truly hurt watching my sister trying to take my place as the first born. I feel ashamed, It's embarrassing & I can't help but nurse hatred for her"
