When anyone who suspects a kidney stone orders a CT with contrast. Truly one of the biggest wastes of time and resources.

When anyone orders a non-con CT abdomen for any reason. Truly one of the biggest wastes of time and resources. Along with a PACU lactate.

@pparikhxr Do residency applications include college transcripts?

Got asked about a C+ in macroeconomics 201 during my Radiology residency interviewed. I replied “Macroeconomics is a made-up field that shouldn’t really be considered a science.”

@olsonplanner Is the IBR minimum payment capped at 10 year standard like the PAYE plan is? Just wondering how the minimum payment would be affected once one becomes attending
English

PSLF-seeking SAVE Borrower Cheat Sheet
1️⃣ First loan taken out July 1, 2014 or later:
➡️ Choose IBR (10% of discretionary income)
2️⃣ First loan taken out between October 1, 2007 and June 30, 2014
➡️ Choose PAYE (also 10%), revisit when PAYE gets shut down
3️⃣ First loan taken out before October 1, 2007
➡️ Choose IBR (it’ll be at the 15% rate unfortunately but it’s your only choice)
4️⃣ Do nothing
This is NOT a general recommendation.
If a SAVE borrower doesn’t switch, they’d theoretically go into some kind of forbearance wherein your loans are accruing interest.
Some who are very close to PSLF or who can only choose the 15% IBR are thinking of doing this.
Leaning on the PSLF buyback is a big part of this thought process.
And possibly waiting out RAP (July 1, 2026) to see if that’s better.
Concern over cashflow due to the 15% is a big motivator behind the “do nothing” strategy.

@nicksortor Why would illegals even be out there risking everything? lol they’re clearly Americans waving Mexican flags

@chess24com Carlsen is clearly out of his depth in classical because of not playing for so long. Unlike the Gukesh game, there's no luck here -- Erigaisi completely outplayed him so far. Just shows that practice is key.

After 21...Qe5? 22.Rc1!, however, Magnus is in real, objective trouble! He needed to put the queen on e3 instead of e5, so that now he could play 22...Ne4! and if 23.Rxc8? then 23...Nf2+! would be a quick checkmate

@dillondanis Hmmm it would be like jon jones dominating for 4.5 rounds then getting caught in a triangle with 30 seconds left

Can someone explain this in MMA terms?

I can’t stop watching this and I don’t know why.
English

@sighaboutlife @ShortSqueezy @DiscussingFilm I didn’t stop because Glenn died, I stopped because the season started sucking lol
English

@ShortSqueezy @DiscussingFilm That was largely because of the rest of s7, not because of Glenn's death

@BrainbowManic @EricLDaugh That’s interesting since the right to private property, defending your property, self defense, free speech, etc. are all also mandated by the government… A human right is not a legal right, and a legal right can defy a human right as we have seen throughout history.
English

@Tapatio117 @EricLDaugh If a right has to be mandated by the government then it isn't a human right. It's a legal right - which is not the same thing.
English

RFK just gave a flawless answer to Bernie Sanders asking if health care is a human right.
Bet Sanders didn't expect an answer this intelligent... he interrupted RFK IMMEDIATELY.
SANDERS: Is it a human right? Yes or no?
RFK: In the way that free speech is? It's different, because free speech costs nothing. In health care - if you smoke cigs for 20 years, and you get cancer - you are now taking from the pool of resources..-
SANDERS: -We've got a few minutes left here.
English

@BrainbowManic @EricLDaugh Hm you are entitled though. By EMTALA, health care workers are legally obligated no matter who comes through the door or what the situation is to help you.
English

If you're dying or injured, you're not entitled to have someone else save you, the person saving you is doing so because they're a good person and it's the right thing to do - and also because they can (or can try, at least).
But you're not *entitled* to it. Entitlement being the key here. You're entitled to have your own thoughts and opinion, and the ability to express them. You're entitled to private property & to defend it. You're entitled to self defense. You're entitled to refuse taking care of someone. You're entitled to not self incriminate. You're entitled to associate with whoever you wish, etc etc.
English

@BrainbowManic @EricLDaugh Hmm do you think that a human being starts with the fundamental right to life? If your loved one has an emergency and needs life saving care, are they entitled to be treated? Or should they be ignored because they can’t afford it and it requires the doctors labor..
English

It's actually even simpler than that.
Healthcare is labor, whether you're a doctor, nurse, pharmacist, etc. You are performing physical OR mental labor to provide a service for someone, in this case - the service is to test someone's health and help heal them of illness and injury.
A right is a kind of entitlement you were born with. Someone has the right to free speech because no matter what the consequences are - you always have the freedom to voice whatever opinion or statement you choose. Even if it's illegal (the 1st amendment merely prevents the US government from violating that natural born right).
You do not have a right to anyone else's labor. Either morally or literally (you can't make someone work, best you can do is convince or coerce).
Therefore, healthcare is not a human right period, as it exclusively requires the labor of one or more people which you are not entitled to just for existing. Any argument that healthcare IS a human right is an argument for slavery.
