Twitter is not a place but an app. Daily activities are the real life – not imagined. It is easy to land on twitter & pick up depression because it is a good dumping place for such. Thank me later.

Just arrived in Mogadishu. A combination of crises: conflict, climate, underfunding, hunger and knock on effects of closure of Strait of Hormuz. Here for a week to support our teams and the communities in greatest need.

Mozambique’s experience is a strong example of how the #UNDAC mechanism supports national leadership while translating global expertise into timely, life-saving action. The HC #DrSozi explains how this partnership strengthens coordinated response when disasters strike.

At the end of May, I will be leaving @UNOCHA. This has been more than a job. It’s been an honour. I will never lose faith in multilateralism and in our common humanity. We can achieve much more when we choose unity over division.

#Madagascar is reeling from two powerful cyclones, Fytia & Gezani, striking just 10 days apart. More than 630,000 people are in urgent need of assistance. Funding shortfalls and depleting stocks are restricting aid coverage in hard-to-reach areas. 🔗 reliefweb.int/node/4200283

📌#Burundi Humanitarian needs in Busuma site are severe due to congestion, high numbers of unaccompanied and separated children and pressure on basic services. @WFP is providing assistance but more funding is required to ramp up the response. 🖇️ reliefweb.int/report/burundi…

Arrived in #SouthSudan and travelled directly to Malakal. Met communities living through years of displacement, as well as families forced to return due to the war in Sudan. They want peace – but people also need support now to rebuild their lives with dignity.
