Jelani Thurman is a high upside transfer stepping into a bigger role. With his size, pedigree, and experience, he can become a major factor in UNC’s offense, especially in the red zone and physical sets.

Carolina brought in three new additions to the tight end room this offseason. Looking to revamp & utilize the position in different ways under new OC Bobby Petrino. @jelani3345 is mine & @chrismithunc’s guy to watch out for!6’6” 250lbs with an insane catch radius. He can be lined up out wide as a feature part of the passing game. He can also be relied upon as a consistent blocker in the run game. He brings with him to Chapel Hill experience at the Big Ten level & a national championship from his time at Ohio State. It will be interesting to see how Carolina utilizes all of the new additions… one guy we have our eye on closely is Jelani Thurman 🐏

Happy Birthday to former Tar Heel Shakeel Rashad @shak_inabox!
Shakeel played in 43 games for the Tar Heels from 2012–15, starting all 14 games as a senior during UNC’s Coastal Division title run. He racked up 126 tackles that year, led the team in TFLs and forced fumbles, and delivered massive performances in the ACC Championship and bowl game. After college, he spent time in the NFL with the Houston Texans.

Dickens is another piece in a completely revamped QB room. Instinctive pocket presence, good timing and accuracy, and the ability to extend plays with his legs. I’m very excited to see him work with Coach Petrino calling the offense.

Taron Dickens (@behumbletyger5) was a late addition to the roster for this season but a very intriguing addition to say the least. This dude absolutely lit it up for Western Carolina last season. He possesses big play ability, despite a thinner frame. & when I say big play ability I mean with his arm & with his legs. Each one of these new QB additions bring something different to the table. It will be interesting to see who emerges as we get closer to kickoff in Ireland 🐏
