Name me another company that still provides crucial updates to their 10 year old phone. I'll wait.

The charging port on the iPhone has also undergone several iterations. image: @tech_flix_

why do some people have strong affection to this stupid port?? it’s 2026, how are we still stuck up on USB A, I genuinely hope many companies start prioritizing USB C more

⚠️ Reminder: removing the S Pen from the S27 Ultra will not magically increase battery capacity On S27 Ultra Battery limits aren’t about space alone. • Dual-cell designs already exist, OEMs could use them, but cost, safety validation, and global shipping rules still apply. • Regulations haven’t changed, and crossing ~ 5,500mAh globally still means higher logistics costs. • Apple, Samsung, and Google are not adopting silicon-carbon batteries, not even next gen. • Chinese brands already solved this locally by shipping two variants: 1-China-only = bigger battery 2- Global = smaller battery, delayed launch, or higher price • Even those larger Chinese variants remain limited to select regions. • Samsung already reached 6,000mAh on midrange phones and even that rollout is still restricted. This isn’t a design choice. It’s regulation, cost, and scale.
