Because we only ever have incompetent people in power because that's how democracy works. You don't get the best candidate. You get the one that screamed the loudest or has the most power to influence people. The system naturally degrades into it and very rarely does a group of people come in to go back and fix things and make them whole again. That's why the private sector will always be superior. They don't have all this baggage

Not true at all. Its all about corruption and power. Money is just an extra. A great example is one of the weed dispensaries in my town has been trying to move to a new building that is right next to the old one but they have been locked up in getting the permits for the new building for 8 months now. This is one of the most profitable businesses in our state and if it were about money they would be up and running already. So clearly it's not about money. It's about power and procedure. At a certain point of corruption they stop caring about money and only care about control.

Corruption works both ways, the speed always going in the direction the money wants it moving in.
