Took our crew bowling. I’m in a heated back and forth with some youths on the jukebox

Old Town Club gives you something to think about (and worry about) on every shot. The fairways and greens have such bold contours and are so firm and fast that you can’t take anything for granted. Never a dull moment and fun from start to finish, one of my absolute favorites!

Understanding the disease triangle can help illustrate why there is minimal active gray leaf spot in this check plot. All three components must be present at the same time. In this case, the host is absent, breaking the cycle.

@IHCCGreenkeeper Would love to hear your opinion of the process and results. I’ve been searching for a contractor for our natives

Naturalized areas can bring many benefits to golf courses, but they can also cause problems. Careful planning and maintenance are needed to maximize the positives and minimize headaches 👇

Had our equipment manager install a foamer on a couple fairway units, expecting to reduce mowing time significantly

@ACGC_Super Yes, the dew will burn off fairly rapidly here, add a few fast groups and now the mowers are waiting even more

@Mieske_tre Been advocating for a brush for this reason. Snow and cleaning around the shop would be an added bonus

Idea may not be the first, but this could be one of the most beneficial uses of the snow brush.

Anyone smooth raking the entire bunker? Looking for toothless rake head options so members can’t rake with teeth. Used a hot putty knife on a few teeth on an accuform rake, rather time consuming

Those using DIY digital job boards, what’s your set up? Would like to use Google Sheets or Excel, with access from the field, be able to pull up a course map or useful pictures, show a webinar, etc

Perry Maxwell did work on some incredible courses. He solo designed Prairie Dunes and Southern Hills, did half of Crystal Downs and worked on Pine Valley and Augusta National. Old Town Club, his classic gem in Winston-Salem, NC, is my favorite example of his work. During their restoration here, Bill Coore & Ben Crenshaw faithfully brought Maxwell’s work back and let it shine. The course is wonderful, top to bottom and start to finish. So wonderful, in fact, that during their period from 1939 to 1995, a span of more than 50 years, Old Town was the finest course built in America.
