@dandekadt It’s the terrible ggplot2 default font size made worse by how people ignore the shrinking when large and multipanel plots are inserted into a paper/article. I’ve seen the equivalent of 4 point font in figures. Wish it was grounds for rejection.

After four overdue article reviews and a tenure letter in the past two weeks, I finally cleared my plate...for APSA discussant duties, letters for job candidates, a book workshop, and more article reviews. And non-academics think we're "off" when not teaching...

@regina_bateson They should use Publons to not only track the number of reviews people complete but also how many they accept/decline. And make all the data public.

So, our article has been "under review" for months. Turns out that's b/c journal can't find reviewers. 😬 What happens if no one will review your paper? Does it get rejected? Do I suggest friends & tell them -- pls say yes! (seems sketchy) Do editors review it?

Is there no strong norm of replicability in quantitative sociology? Went looking for the data from an AJS article and found nothing. Checked out the AJS guidelines--essentially "submitting replication data/code is best practice, but we know it's hard and don't require it."
