@fm100 @commitify @focusmate thanks. it's a little hard to fathom but makes sense that this would work considering how heavily people are already leaning on chatgpt for therapy-like support.

Capitalism isn't the problem. People (with no scruples) are the problem. Case in point: @ImpossibleFoods coming for my friend @joelrunyon 's brand @ImpossibleHQ (even though Joel's biz has been around much longer). Capitalism is 100% compatible with human decency.
Joel Runyon@joelrunyon

For the last 3.5 years – the fake meat giant @impossiblefoods has been suing my company @impossiblehq (est 2010) trying to cancel our trademarks. After their first attempt was thrown out, they doubled down & now are suing me (personally) as well. Here's what's going on 👇🏼

@TaylorJacobson @focusmate I just crossed 800+ mark. I believe the words, personalization in email along with the community worked for me very well.

I broke one of my largest streak (until now of constant 6 months any app) of using @focusmate but, the person behind email marketing/notification content curation convinced me to start my streak again maybe a bigger this time after a gap of 3 months. Who is that person?

@focusmate Am v close to signing up. I used to use @caveday but it's a bit rigid for my liking! I'd love it if @focusmate had the ability to do "instant" matches. Rather than having to wait on the 15 minute.

Hi @TaylorJacobson. I've seen many @focusmate endorsements from ADHD professionals. Here's one from a recent webinar with a top ADHD coach. Maybe it would be worthwhile for Focusmate to create a systematic outreach campaign.

@gustavoarizpe @focusmate that's a cool hack! we should probably create some kind of partnership to make a permanent Focusmate station like that easy for people...

@TaylorJacobson just learning you live here in CDMX, I'm really digging @focusmate. Awesome and incredibly useful product to get things done. I even set up a SIMless smartphone as a dedicated Focusmate station.

@businessbarista These are 🔥. True story, l recruited the first ever ~five @focusmate users to do Focusmate sessions with me as my main support to build the MVP of Focusmate when it was just lonely ol' me in the early days. Been using it ever since.

Things I’d do differently as a 2nd time founder: 1) Stop being CEO the second I’m no longer best qualified or stop enjoying the role 2) Prioritize way more ruthlessly 3) Hire via freelance-to-full time way more frequently 4) Use EOS on day 1 5) Create a personal operating manual for teammates like @chughesjohnson 6) Set an expectation of Radical Candor (h/t @kimballscott) with all employees as part of onboarding 7) Raise $ via an SPV vs collecting 28 individual checks and docs 8) Spend more time talking to customers 9) Use @storyarb to help me create content so I can focus more time on building 10) Have 2 no-call days per week 11) Issue C-Corp shares ASAP so the QSBS timer starts 12) Monthly temperature checks with co-founder 13) Hire someone who handles ops/HR earlier 14) “Traction” and “15 Commitments of Conscious Leadership” are required reading 15) Use @focusmate for deep work sessions

There is definitely a lot of truth in this hot take by my friend @neilpatel In my experience, Peer Groups > Coaches ... Especially long term. I find my @YPO forum immensely helpful. There are many other good ones like @HamptonFounders by @thesamparr as well as @EntrepreneurOrg If you want to work with a coach, have a clear objective and timeline. Keep the commitment short term and reevaluate the tangible value that you are getting frequently. IMO the best thing for entrepreneur is a peer group.
Neil Patel@neilpatel

The dumbest thing you can spend money on as an entrepreneur is a business coach. I just don’t get it. I know so many people who spend money on coaches. And they always tell me, oh this coach is so successful, smart, and rich… It’s a bunch of bull… if the coach were that rich from their previous ventures, they wouldn’t be a coach. And if they truly wanted to be a coach because they “loved” it... then they would do it for free because they don’t care for the money. Or they would do it for equity in your company and only make money if you made money. I just don’t get why people hire business coaches that charge money on a monthly or annual basis. If you want mentorship, there are others ways to get it. And no, it doesn’t have to cost money. Plus the coaches you really want help from, the ones who know what they are doing, won't just help you out for money. They don't run Facebook ads to try and get your money. It's much harder to convince them. And the coaches who are rich and have fancy houses and cars, it's from all people that are paying them for coaching.
