Honestly, I’m 51 years old, and when I look back at my life, there is no logical reason I should still be here. I’ve escaped death more than once. I was hit by a car when I was 8 years old. I was in another major car accident at 17. At 36, I had a heart attack and had to be flown by helicopter. Recently, I went through two serious surgeries where I came close to losing my legs, including a 4-hour vascular surgery. I was adopted at two weeks old, and when I finally learned more about my genetics, it wasn’t exactly a winning lottery ticket. The men in my biological family didn’t live past 48. Heart attacks. Strokes. Alcoholism. That was the pattern. So when people ask me why I speak so strongly, why I fight so hard, why I care so much, that’s why. I know what it feels like to be broken down by life and still get back up. There’s no reason I should still be here except for the fact that I believe I still have work to do. I believe God kept me here for a reason. And right now, that reason is to tell the truth, help people, protect natural kratom, and stand up for the people who feel like nobody is listening. I didn’t survive all of that just to stay quiet.
