@TheParkheadF The responsibility here lies with the player. Resting up before he inevitably goes to the World Cup? If he was injured after Stuttgart’s first goal he should have taken himself off; respect cuts both ways. His performance v Hibs was also poor. I’m so disappointed to read this.

Kasper has basically admitted he’s been playing for weeks possibly months with an injured shoulder. Naturally that raises a serious question: why were the club’s medical staff and management allowing him to continue playing when it was obvious at times that he was struggling? That’s a completely fair discussion for supporters to have. If a player is injured, the responsibility ultimately sits with the club to protect the player and make the correct decision. What I will say though is this, the personal abuse directed at Schmeichel over the last while has been shocking. Criticising performances on the pitch is part of football, that’s fair game. But the stuff about his weight and personal digs? That’s just embarrassing. Kasper Schmeichel is still a Celtic player. He’s clearly been trying to play through pain to help the team, and while fans are entitled to question decisions and performances, making it personal crosses the line in my opinion. Debate the football all you want but keep a bit of respect. 🍀
