@AlhumileE @Lara1273 @AliRazaWrites @London_W4 I looked at others around me, I can describe most of the other people in my close vicinity. But still, in the context of public transport, obscured faces exist in public in many ways and without people automatically assuming threat from them.

@TeaNotCrumpets @Lara1273 @AliRazaWrites @London_W4 You are completely wrong about that and intentionally doing so... The probability of meeting someone in a custom while using the tube on an average day is waaaay too low. Now compare it with the probability of meeting someone in a hijab. In fact you expect it

@AlhumileE @Lara1273 @AliRazaWrites @London_W4 What’s the implication? That women in niqabs are dangerous? The lady above is saying if she can’t see faces or eyes, she feels uncomfortable, I gave examples of other times someone face would be covered.

@TeaNotCrumpets @Lara1273 @AliRazaWrites @London_W4 The comparison is completely wrong. When you go for certain events you are expecting to see people in costumes. Now, imagine seeing someone wearing a Santa costume in July with his face fully covered sitting on the bus/train or at the grocery store or just walking behind you...

@Lara1273 @AliRazaWrites @AlhumileE @London_W4 You’re completely entitled to your opinion, I’m not trying to debate that. I was making a point that there’s many instances where someone’s face is hidden an it’s not just women in niqabs. They’re not going to ban helmets, they’re likely not going to ban religious clothing either

Isn’t it funny whenever I post about the far right who are sooooo interested in protecting women & girls all I get is insults calling me fat, ugly, a bitch, stupid etc.. No one ever replies or explains from a logical point of view, it’s just hatred and insults!

@M786Aysha3831 @TeaNotCrumpets @Lara1273 @AliRazaWrites @London_W4 Algeria, Morocco, Egypt, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, and several other Muslim majority countries have banned it. Also.. you do realize that most in UAE believes we’re too soft on you lot, right? Officials has stated multiple times that we shouldn’t allow their trash to be here.

@afkaemlo @Lara1273 @AliRazaWrites @London_W4 😂😂 you can tell all this from a poor quality profile picture? Are you Poirot? You can keep going, I’ve never really been one to be phased by anonymous people which ties in to this discussion actually, do you have any input towards the discussion?

@Lara1273 @AliRazaWrites @London_W4 Right, so the point is, do you comment that you feel uncomfortable on every post you see of a photo taken of someone in public without their knowledge with their face covered (balaclava, helmet ect) or is it just Muslim women in niqabs?

I never let my children sit on Santa’s lap either, so no — it isn’t inconsistent. People make personal judgements about safety, boundaries and what they feel comfortable with all the time. I’m also entitled to hold my own view. As a woman, I simply do not feel comfortable when someone’s face is completely covered and I can’t read basic facial cues or even see their eyes. That’s a perfectly legitimate feeling to have.
