@LambLex One of the architects present had called the dull brown colour of brick being used as 'medi-ochre'.

@LambLex One of my favourite NGS moments was Beatrice Taylor representing the Old Glasgow Club at the Amenity Liaison Committee. When we were debating the dubious colours of a new build's materials she added, "I remember when Glasgow had a nice uniform layer of soot." End of discussion.

A rare example of a building in Glasgow city centre that still has the soot that built up during its first century.

Request from which I expect zero replies. Does anyone have any information about Kenny Ball and His Jazz Men playing Oughten’s in Dumfries in either 1962 or 1963? No. I m sure nobody does. Forget I asked.

@TheSimonEvans It was either Stuart Maconie or Andrew Collins who suggested John Le Mesurier as the ideal voice of SatNav. Imagine taking a wrong turn: "Wouldn't you mind awfully, once it's safe to do so, completing a U-turn?"

Please be honest, I’m trying to prove a point! Would you report your neighbor if you knew they were mistreating their dog? 🐶 🐕

@nee_massey Replace the Cathcart Circle with a cycle lane, convert the City Chambers to premium student accommodation, build a solar farm on Glasgow Green and blame the suburbs for all the city's ills. Here's the tree that grew and grew.

@AuthorGFAllen Had this recently. There was a lot of hype about the Thursday murder club. Hated it. No desire to read any more in the series.

@GLA_Airport 22 June 1974 Bishopbriggs High School Plane Spotters Club visited Air Traffic Control. As a 12 year old I found it fascinating that staff didn't watch through the windows as the planes landed.

@TheSimonEvans I remember it well. I was standing in Sauchiehall Street, in the queue to get into the Apollo to see Thin Lizzy, wondering why the tellies in the Rediffusion shop window were all showing a posh house on fire.

I remember it very well indeed. Lit a fire in English bellies that sustained us up to the Falklands. Let alone with the ongoing farrago in Tehran on Carter’s watch. And they interrupted the coverage of the snooker, live from the Crucible. Sponsored by? Embassy tobacco.

@TheSimonEvans That's the second time that balcony has been a notable footnote in history. The first time was 1980. We live in interesting times.
