The UK is one of a few countries that treat fictional drawings such as anime loli illustrations as equivalent to child pornography for possession purposes. This was made illegal by the UK's Coroners and Justice Act 2009 sections 62-68. This act is insane in that it specifically targets non-photographic stuff like anime, cartoons, manga, drawings, sketches... things that no reasonable person would think are of real child victims. What counts as "grossly offensive, or obscene" in the language of the law is up to interpretation that allows overly sensitive karens to slap artists with insane punishments, with jail time and sex offender registry. The UK government argues that lolicon content can be used to groom real children, "Fuel" pedophilic urges, and potentially leading to real abuse. In follow-up interviews, they admit that the rationale lacked scientific proof of causation or harm... Studies even show that a possible substitution or cathartic effect exists where fantasy outlets reduce real-world risk. Despite all that, they enacted it based on the idea of "better safe than sorry." Fiction isn't the same as real abuse, and this creates a punishment for "Thought policing". The idea of drawing, writing, and illustrating is an extension of creative cognition. Making certain thoughts illegal is a massive slippery slope, as warned in many works of fiction, like the book 1984, and lessons from repressive authoritarian regimes around the world. This kind of censorship, in the end, is not for the protection of real victims but to police the thoughts of its citizens, in hopes of creating a harmonious utopia where all deviant thoughts are erased from the population... because it doesn't stop at just illustrations, it keeps morphing, metastasizing, and spreading into other "deviant" thoughts just like so many repressive regimes has done. In the end, the powers that be in the karenocract want compliant NPCs for which the government can have its way. Meanwhile, as I say... There has been over a decade of documented failures in actual grooming gang UK abuse cases, where real CHILD victims were ignored because "racism is bad". Fucking clown country. The UK isn't a full authoritarian state... yet... but it is on its way, and the endgame is going to be ugly as hell.

Mimi is a trial run for the what governments around the world want the Internet to look like. And I don't necessarily mean sterilized child friendly. They want everyone's name on full display. No anonymity, everyone from the most disgusting hater to the spinless politicians will know exactly who you are. To say the least I have nothing but contempt for everyone involved, not just Starmer, but the Officers, Prosecutor, and Judge that was involved with forcing her to dox herself. They are disgusting and deplorable. And I hesitate to call the "people". But some "people" will gladly cheer this on because it was the fictional content they didn't like. Mimi harmed no one, she minded her own business in her own corner. And if you don't understand how this is a bad thing for everyone then you are too fucking stupid to waste my time on.

@ChibiReviews We literally said it was all a slippery slope, and we're seeing it before our very eyes. This isn't about "protecting children"; It's about control. They'll change words and their meanings to justify it too.

UK-based VTuber and artist Mimi Yanagi was arrested on April 20 for her own drawings of anime-style characters. These drawings were 100% fictional, made up by her, with no real people involved. UK law still treats these kinds of drawings as illegal child pornography, police took all her computers and devices. She has now been released on bail, but she is not allowed to post any “adult” content. She must also use an account name approved by the police. The UK is lost, you can’t even draw now, they will put you in prison

@AGoldmund I always assumed it went: Song releases -> song is licensed for DDR -> song becomes popular online -> song gets snagged by Chinese toy companies -> Chinese toy companies copy each other and/or use the same parts Curious to find out what the real story is!

Hi, I’ve been investigating how this song ended up on so many toys. I’m not done with the story but I can tell you that this tweet is wrong. I spoke to Veronica Almqvist, the sole current member of smile.dk and this song was never licensed legally, it was just used

A 1998 Swedish eurodance song, Butterfly by Smile.dk, became the chorus in millions of toy phones. The chorus was licensed into countless toy phones worldwide, turning it into a hidden global hit. Most people grew up hearing it without ever knowing its origin.

@Tobojashi At this point, I'm like 90% certain that everyone constantly being afraid of Iris Heart is partially due to some passive, innate *ability* she has that makes people afraid of her just by sheer presence. She was able to scare the Hyper Dimension versions of Blanc and Vert, who-
