Back to my teaching routes today. I’ve designed homeschool post packs for creative kids. Learning basic photography at home (not on a phone) Each kit contains a task booklet, scrapbook, disposable camera, glue stick, pen and pencil. 16 days, 16 tasks. #teach

Crikey, over a year since I logged on. Update for my followers: I left secondary teaching in March 2020 to pursue my photography business. Now teaching and mentoring photographers whilst waiting for weddings to be allowed again. Hope you’re all coping!

@MissSpencerDT @MissAmilahS Agree! There’s too much competition in schools about who’s subject is more important. Creative subjects are seen as easy and students are often pulled from these to do extra maths and english. It’s a culture that’s come from SLT and target driven results

@MissAmilahS But there's the other side to this too - "oh, anyone can do blah, it's not a "real" subject", especially in conversations about D&T, food, art, drama... It's an equally unhelpful position to set, and while it's rarely phrased that explicitly, it's definitely an opinion I've met..

Feels like the right time to be leaving, taught this one since year 7, all the way through to 13. Gonna miss them greatly even though they do my nut in 😂xxx

As a teen I was told that a career in the arts would be pointless. Fast forward 14 years, I’ve got my own business and just landed back from shooting a celebrity wedding in Malaga. Never give up!

Been informed today by someone who has never observed me that my teaching is a 3 🙃🙃🙃 it may be but I would prefer evidence that supports this. To be a 2, I need to use mini whiteboards more often (I don’t have any pens as my order was rejected twice). #toxicschools

A Level moderation day, #graphiccommunication Super proud of their work, and even prouder than 5 of them are going on to uni to do some sort of design course. Taught some of them every single year since year 7 😂 I’ll miss them really! (Don’t tell em)
