@NaekuMercy @SamuelIrun69496 I wish you had as much hatred for those who steal from us every day as much as you seem to have for Gachagua.

@bungomaduke The other day you were all over telling us how those fuel guys will be taken to court as Kasongo is serious about fighting corruption. 3 weeks later we are still waiting!!
English

@HonAdenDuale @rigathi If you knew all that about him, why didn't you advise your president not to have him as his running mate, since he was a liability?

Kenya deserves leaders of integrity, not endless controversy.
@rigathi Gachagua rose to high office under a cloud of serious corruption allegations involving billions of shillings. Even the courts have questioned the source of his wealth.
But this story did not begin there.
In 1997, he was dismissed from the civil service while serving as a District Officer in Laikipia over gross misconduct. A matter he has never fully explained to the public.
In July 2021, he was arrested by the DCI at his Nyeri home over allegations of money laundering and abuse of office, tied to vast sums of money flowing through accounts associated with him.
Even within his own family, disputes have spilled into the open. Relatives of the late Nyeri Governor, Nderitu Gachagua, have raised concerns over the handling of a multibillion-shilling estate. Claims that remain contested, but serious enough to demand clarity.
Then came the unthinkable. For the first time in our history, a sitting Deputy President was impeached by constitutional institutions over violations of oath, divisive rhetoric and conduct deemed unfit for office.
This is a pattern that raises urgent questions:
Can we trust leadership weighed down by persistent integrity concerns?
Can a nation unite under divisive politics?
Can accountability mean anything if we ignore such a record?
I have challenged the impeached former Deputy President to state clear facts and stand firmly on integrity. If he wishes to lecture the nation, he must be ready to answer every question, not just the convenient ones.

@KTNNewsKE These are the people Kibaki had in mind when he talked of people who have suddenly become very clever.

President William Ruto: I know many people in Kenya keep asking why is it that sometimes the prices of fuel are different in Kenya from our neighbors. Kenya is a middle-income country. Our neighbors are least developed countries. There is a big difference. If you want to compare Kenya fairly with others, compare Kenya with other middle-income countries.

President William Ruto has defended the affordable housing programme, stating that the ongoing projects are being financed without external borrowing. Ruto revealed that the government has signed housing contracts worth Sh650 billion, noting that sourcing such an amount externally would have taken years.

Pleased by the successful outcome of the Kenya Pipeline Company (KPC) IPO, the first initial public offering in Kenya in 17 years, whose overall subscription reached 105%, reflecting strong confidence by investors and the market in our privatisation agenda and economic turnaround programme.
Encouraged by the strong participation of investors, over 67% of whom are Kenyans investing individually and through institutions, broadening public ownership of national assets while promoting diversification of wealth and equal opportunity.
Welcomed the strategic regional participation from EAC investors, including Uganda and Rwanda, underscoring growing regional confidence in our economy and positioning KPC as a truly regional energy infrastructure company.
At State House, Nairobi, received a brief on the outcome of the KPC IPO and reiterate that the proceeds will be channeled to the National Infrastructure Fund (NIF) to support the development of critical national infrastructure once Parliament approves its operationalisation.

@WilliamsRuto the renaming of Talanta to Raila Odinga International Stadium is a beautiful gesture of unity & respect for Baba's legacy . To make it even more iconic, could we please consider a dignified statue of him at the entrance?

We have a solid plan to transform Kisumu as part of our wider mission to transform the county to a first-world economy.
In Kisumu County alone, we have committed Ksh44 billion to deliver 14,000 affordable housing units, 20 modern markets, and student hostels for 10,200 learners, creating jobs for more than 15,000 young people.
We have allocated a further Ksh5 billion for roads across the county, an additional Ksh950 million investment to modernise Moi Stadium into a state-of-the-art facility.
Laid the foundation stone for Phase II of the 401-unit Kanyakwar Affordable Housing Project and inspected Phase I of the same project in Kisumu County.

We are supporting the Committee on the Implementation of the Ten-Point Agenda and the National Dialogue Committee Report (COIN-10) to fully deliver on its mandate.
This process is designed to unite Kenyans through inclusive national dialogue and restore trust in public institutions by fostering transparency and accountability.
It will translate consensus into practical reforms that strengthen democracy, improve daily life, and create opportunities for all.
Received a briefing and progress update from the Committee on the Implementation of the Ten-Point Agenda and NADCO at State House, Nairobi.
