I got chosen to be a Bounty Duelist this weekend at YCS Columbus! It's my first time. Every round, any opponent who beats me gets packs! But I also get packs if I win. Let's see how this goes! Wish me luck!

I'm excited to share the first Labrynth event top of 2026 at the Las Vegas Regional! I went 6-1 on SEC Labrynth with FULL POWER Kewl Tune format (pre-banlist) and got 5th place. Played against Memento (Pascal rematch when??), 3 kewl tune, maliss, mitsurugi and sky striker. I actually won more games where I lost die roll, deck is super fun to try to crack a board. You really can't afford to make any mistakes. SECmaxxing is so much more fun than non-engine pile slop (harmonia, spark, songs). It feels way more rewarding and feels a lot more consistent. Anyone cutting down on Arias to play Songs should definitely reconsider! She was a trooper today. A great highlight was resolving Simultaneous Equation Cannons in game 3 turn zero for everything and winning on the spot against World Champion Ruben Peranada on Kewl Tune. I really liked my side patterns this event, Rescue Ace Impulse and Fire Attacker (shout-out Chuy) really put in a lot of work to dig for turn zero plays in a way mulcharmies can't through the discard outlet. Almost every deck played into it in some way. In a format where Belle and Ash blossom are so prevalent, having powerful blowouts that bring you back into the game is really important, and if your traps aren't stopping your opponent's turn, you're losing even with furniture follow up. That's why it HAS to be SEC and sometimes Destructive Daruma Karma Cannon and not low impact traps like Spark, Punishment, and Songs which are vulnerable to Kewl Tune Synchro (the quick play) and handtraps. I also cannot express my love for Transaction Rollback enough, this card has saved me so much in this tournament. It brings the ceiling to a place where it feels like you're breaking the rules of the game. I recorded a brief deck profile with someone at the event so be on the lookout, it should be up by Monday. I also plan on doing a more comprehensive and in depth guide on the Silver Castle YouTube channel after YCS Columbus, which I will be attending! I'm always torn about this. I think MD's paid gem packs are laughably low value, almost to the extent that it seems like they're nudging you away from even considering paid currency at all and encouraging the F2P grind. And that grind wouldn't be too bad if there wasn't such a steep commitment to building decks. Once you've spent the UR dust or opened the packs, you'd BETTER be sure it's a deck you're going to enjoy. I know it's probably not attractive from Konami's point of view, but I think the ability to "trial run" decks or something similar would go a long way.

I think a lot of ppl misunderstand my complaints about MD’s economy. I don’t want it to be PTCGL! that game’s very underfunded and is an ugly bug-ridden mess. I just wish MD was *a bit* better, like ~33% more gems earned. and I’d happily spend $$ if the $ to UR ratio was better.
