Four of the five inductees into Ursuline Academy of Dallas’ inaugural Athletic Hall of Fame today. Very well done. Great turnout. Just such a great spirit of support for five women who have represented the school so well. Grateful to be in attendance today.

BASEBALL | Corpus Christi St. John Paul II alum Jose Trevino @HipHipJose5 evened out Wednesday night's ERA below with an 8th-inning appearance tonight against the Pittsburgh Pirates. He faced four batters, walked one and struck out one (Marcell Ozuna). His ERA rests now at a balmy 22.50 on a cold night in Pittsburgh! :-)
Ian Bach@BachTalk1

@TJStats @pitchprofiler Trevino got absolutely shelled in that inning—6 hits and 5 runs on 20 pitches is a disaster, and this outing needs to stay in the bullpen for a while. Jose Trevino:, 1.0 IP, 5 ER, 0 K, 0 BB, 20 P

The Newton program, of course, was launched to new heights by 317-win head coach Curtis Barbay. What few know is that Barbay was a '60 grad of Port Arthur Bishop Byrne and played on the Shamrocks' finalist team that lost to Dallas Jesuit in the 1959 TCIL title game, 34-20.

BASEBALL | Day three for games (and four on the calendar) is in the books in Auburndale, Florida at the Homeschool World Series Association @HWSAbaseball. One Texas team will play for the Division I title on Saturday and it'll definitely be an all Lone Star affair in Division II. The big contest Friday sees the No. 1-seed DFW TACA Storm @TACA_Baseball meeting the Houston Northside Falcons @NSFalcons2026 - the No. 5 seed at twelve thirty p.m. with the aim - for the Storm - being the end of the Falcons' four straight Division I wins. They will meet the winner of the Charlotte Stampede and Raleigh Warriors in that championship contest. In Division II, all four semifinal teams are from Texas. The Houston HCYA Eagles @hcyaeagles and the Dallas HSAA Angels @DallasHSAA will meet at nine a.m. followed by the West Houston Thunder @WHTBaseball versus the Fort Worth THESA Riders at twelve thirty p.m. The winners will meet Saturday morning at nine a.m. The Mansfield Knights are in the consolation bracket of Division I while the Bryan Aggieland Homeschool Panthers @AHA_panthers are on the same side of the bracket in Division II. The Austin Texans, who are in Division III, will see the third day of Pool Play on Friday. They are 2-0 and will face off against Springfield (MO) Lighthouse Christian Chargers, also 2-0, for the bragging rights in that division.
