Over the past three months (Dec 2025 to Feb 2026), Amazon USA sold just 47% of the volume of processors it sold during the same period last year. This represents a very significant loss of units volume (a trend also evident among other retailers). 3dcenter.org/news/news-des-…

Recent announcements reminded me of Rent's Rule The IO pins of a device = square root ( gate count ) Small chips don't work, too much IO. Really big chips aren't great either, IO isn't that hard or expensive. Balance :)

Shit like this infuriates me. 1) Poland’s economic miracle was largely thanks to joining the EU and enjoying massive EU investments. In fact this was the main project for the EU for the past 20 years and a big reason why we didn’t spend as much on defense and tech. 2) They only needed a restrictive migration policy because the US triggered enormous refugee waves by bombing one country after another in the Middle East.
Stephen Miller@StephenM

And they did it while maintaining one of the most restrictive migration polices in Europe.

@TechEpiphanyYT @AdrianP_doc Afghanistan had nothing to do with 9/11? Afghanistan served as a base of operations for al-Qaeda And was given safe haven by the Taliban. We even tried to get them to hand over Bin-Laden and dismantle al-Qaeda before and after 9/11

Romania answered America's call for help after 9/11 as did many other NATO members, big and small. Our soldiers were deployed there for 19 years. 27 Romanian soldiers were killed and 200 were wounded in Afghanistan. I met on of them in a hospital recently. He lost a leg to an IED and has to get treatment for the rest of his life. I have only one question for the American cousinfuckers who are now saying NATO allies are unreliable and ungrateful: How many Israeli soldiers fought and died for the US in Afghanistan?

The rhetoric attributed to Viktor Orbán relies on a familiar populist formula: simplifying complex geopolitical realities into a narrative of hidden “war profiteers” and external conspiracies. While emotionally resonant, this framing does not withstand closer scrutiny. First, the claim that conflicts are primarily driven by arms manufacturers, energy companies, or banks ignores the fundamental cause of the current war in Ukraine—namely, the military aggression initiated by Russia. Defense industries respond to security demand; they do not create the geopolitical conditions that lead to war. Similarly, energy markets and financial institutions react to instability rather than orchestrate it. Second, portraying Hungary as uniquely “shielding” itself from war is misleading. The European Union is not a party to the conflict, and no member state is sending troops into direct combat. The collective approach across Europe has been to support Ukraine while avoiding escalation into a wider war—hardly the scenario suggested by such alarmist language. Third, the narrative of shadowy actors “pushing from behind” lacks evidence and serves primarily as a political tool. It redirects attention away from tangible policy debates—such as energy dependence, governance concerns, or economic performance—and toward abstract enemies that cannot be held accountable. In this sense, the message functions less as an analysis of reality and more as a mechanism of political mobilization. By invoking fear and external threats, it seeks to consolidate domestic support while sidestepping more complex and inconvenient questions. Ultimately, the situation in Europe is driven by concrete geopolitical actions, not by the simplistic conspiracy implied in such statements. Effective policy requires clarity and realism—qualities that are notably absent from this kind of rhetoric.

'Super Supplier' Samsung Welcomes Lisa Su — JY Lee Leverages HBM to Extract Foundry Gains As AMD CEO Lisa Su visits Korea ahead of a meeting with Samsung Electronics Chairman Lee Jae-yong, Samsung has successfully negotiated favorable terms against AMD, having become a "super supplier" amid a global memory semiconductor shortage. Just two years ago, Samsung was the one courting AMD in hopes of supplying high bandwidth memory (HBM) — now the tables have turned. It is AMD that must come to Samsung, which commands the industry's largest production capacity, in order to secure advanced memory supply. According to Samsung Electronics on the 18th, the two companies signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to expand cooperation in next-generation AI memory and computing technology. Su met with Samsung DS Division Head Vice Chairman Jeon Young-hyun at the Pyeongtaek campus to discuss specific areas of collaboration. While details were not disclosed, industry sources believe the deal includes Samsung increasing its leading-edge HBM supply to AMD in exchange for AMD committing a portion of its advanced AI chip production to Samsung Foundry. The Shift in Semiconductor Landscape That Brought Lisa Su Knocking Su has led AMD since taking the helm in 2014, credited with reviving the company from near-collapse. In recent years, however, the market has shifted dramatically — from server and PC-centric CPUs toward data center AI semiconductors — making AI chips AMD's largest revenue source and primary growth driver. AMD is widely regarded as the most credible "number two" challenger to NVIDIA, yet faces a formidable list of challenges ahead. To close the performance gap with NVIDIA, AMD must not only strengthen its AI chip design capabilities but also scale up its supply chain. The near-term picture, however, skews negative. AMD's Q1 guidance stands at approximately $9.8 billion, implying a roughly 5% sequential decline. Following that announcement, major outlets including Reuters raised concerns about the quality and margin profile of AMD's AI semiconductor business, even amid headline revenue growth. AMD urgently needs both qualitative and quantitative improvement in its AI chip business. It must chase NVIDIA's dominant position while simultaneously defending against the rise of custom chip (ASIC) designers such as Broadcom. For AMD, sustained growth depends on supplying higher-performance chips at scale to hyperscalers including OpenAI, Meta, and Microsoft. The industry consensus is that AMD's MI-series AI chips have achieved meaningful performance, but remain at a disadvantage to NVIDIA in terms of economies of scale. Compounding this is the persistent difficulty in securing HBM — NVIDIA, as the dominant buyer, is absorbing a substantial share of the most advanced HBM output from both Samsung and SK Hynix. The reason Su made the trip to Samsung directly is straightforward: Samsung is the only company capable of supplying the highest-performance HBM in the largest volumes. In the sixth-generation HBM (HBM4) segment — targeted for AMD's flagship AI chip, the MI400, this year — Samsung is broadly regarded as the technology leader. Notably, Samsung has pushed HBM4 performance beyond spec, giving it a peak performance edge over rivals. AMD, a Devoted TSMC Customer, Set to Deepen Samsung Foundry Partnership Samsung held the stronger hand at the negotiating table with AMD. NVIDIA, the industry's largest buyer, is already placing massive orders, while Broadcom and others continue to ramp HBM and high-performance server DRAM purchases to fulfill Big Tech demand. In other words, Samsung has no shortage of major customers willing to pay a premium. Those inside and outside Samsung largely agree: Samsung leveraged HBM as a bargaining chip to extract more favorable terms from Su. For Samsung, the deal also advances its broader foundry ambitions, tightening the chase against rival TSMC. AMD is widely considered one of TSMC's most loyal customers — as of earlier this year, AMD disclosed that it produces all of its sub-7nm advanced-node chips exclusively through TSMC. While Qualcomm and NVIDIA have at various points used Samsung Foundry for key chips alongside TSMC, AMD has relied overwhelmingly on TSMC for the vast majority of its production, with only legacy-node chips outsourced to GlobalFoundries (GF) as a secondary option. Meaningful collaboration between AMD and Samsung Foundry has been effectively nonexistent — until now. A semiconductor industry source noted: "An AMD–Samsung Foundry partnership is a scenario that has been discussed steadily since signs of memory supply tightening emerged last year, with active dialogue at the working level. The meeting between Chairman Lee and CEO Su has now given that potential manufacturing partnership significantly more momentum." $AMD

🚨To every Black person tempted by the antisemitic wave sweeping right now:🚨 Back when white mobs lynched us in the streets... When we had no money, no power, and literally no movement... Who stood with us? Who risked everything? The Jews. They weren't just allies—they were family in the fight. - Jewish leaders co-founded the NAACP in 1909 and funded/led it for generations when no one else would. - When Dr. King and our people were arrested, beaten, jailed—Jewish lawyers defended us for free, and Jewish money paid bail bonds and court fees while others turned away. - In Freedom Summer '64, half the white volunteers risking death to register Black voters? Jewish. - Rabbi Heschel marched arm-in-arm with MLK in Selma—our struggles linked forever. Without their blood, treasure, solidarity, and courage—there is no Civil Rights Movement as we know it. No Voting Rights Act. No dream realized. That's why I stand with the Jews. They were our only true friends when this country hated us—when doors slammed shut and ropes hung high. They showed up, bled, and built with us. So to my people joining this demonic, divisive hate today: Pause. Remember. Honor the alliance that freed us. Our histories are bound. Our freedoms were won together. Betray that, and you betray the very martyrs who died for our rights. Black-Jewish unity forged the dream. Don't let hate destroy it. I stand with my Jewish brothers and sisters—always. ✊🏾🤝✡️🇮🇱 Repost if truth > trends. If gratitude > division. If history matters. #BlackJewishAlliance #RememberOurAllies #StandTogether #CivilRightsTruth #NoToAntisemitism
