@jessitron Hi, That is incredibly frustrating. We can confirm there was an outage with our 3rd party licensing server but it is back online now. We will investigate ways to handle future outages better.

Today I found the correct encoding for importing SRT files with audio into Techsmith's Camtasia Video: UTF-8-BOM. Copilot including GPT-5 is good, but couldn't give me this tip, and it's not documented by Techsmith.

@TechSmith why I can't login in your site? I'm trying to renew my Snagit license, but every time I try to login (using Snagit or using the sigin button on your site) I got this error:

@AstronomyGarage Do you have the ticket number handy? Knowing which song(s) caused problems will help us get this figured out.

@TechSmith Unfortunately it's not just that song, and I've found that replacing the song won't keep them from re-claiming the same video. I've given up and will delete, re-edit, and upload all of the affected videos with zero Camtasia content. Please fix your YouTube ContentID agreements.

@AstronomyGarage What is your ticket number? We'd like to look into this. Hopefully it's just this one song!

@TechSmith I already did that. The claimant keeps hitting my videos for the same song (even after I've used the YouTube "Replace Song" feature). The lesson that I've learned is that it is no longer safe to use any audio content from Camtasia.

@dfinke We encourage you to submit this to the feedback form we linked earlier. The more context you can provide about why the feature would be useful, what format the desired output should be and why, the better we can look into making a solution that will work for everyone.

@TechSmith I think this'd be a good feature. You should snapshot it and put it in your backlog.

Camtasia does 95% of my video editing. The last 5% is always the “why is this missing?” part. Example: no **Export Markers** feature. So I asked Gemini. “No script exists, but here’s how you’d write one.” Now it exists. #PowerShell. Faster than a cup of noodles.

@AmericaninBKK Thanks for the suggestion! One thing you can do currently is set up the File System output in Snagit to send to a folder of your choosing and then add that to your toolbar. You can do this for multiple folders :)

@TechSmith You guys need a "save to folder" feature in Snagit. Would allow the user to drag and drop the capture to a different folder. Like this:

@TechSmith Snagit 2026 now out on Mac. When will full File Format Compatibility be implemented for Mac & Windows? techsmith.com/learn/tutorial… Several years on & still limited on which machine I edit Snagit files on & have to save PNGs to ensure I can use creations on either platform.
