This won’t just be the first time this century that an endorsed Republican candidate loses to a primary challenger in August. It will also be the first time an endorsed Democrat defeats a legitimate primary challenger. Major paradigm shift is happening in Minnesota.

if anyone is wondering why the GOP never has a chance in Minnesota, I have the perfect explanation for you: the GOP recruited the best candidate for Senate in a generation (@Michele_Tafoya) and after a long rules fight this morning, they are now on the third ballot round looking like they won’t endorse her. Every time I think about getting involved in Minnesota politics again I see this and am reminded why I stay away.

The fact that delegates endorsed Adam Schwarze over Michele Tafoya in the U.S. Senate race could be a sign of a broader anti-establishment appetite among the delegates at the convention. We'll see which candidates pick up endorsements in the other races.

Minnesota Republican Party Endorses Ron Schutz for Attorney General by Unanimous Consent DULUTH, MN — The Republican Party of Minnesota today announced the endorsement of Ron Schutz for Minnesota Attorney General by unanimous consent, uniting Republicans behind the candidate best positioned to defeat Keith Ellison and restore integrity, accountability, and public safety to the Attorney General’s Office. Schutz, a lifelong Minnesotan, husband, father, Army veteran, and nationally recognized trial lawyer, enters the general election as the clear Republican choice to take on Ellison. He has built a career standing up for people, leading in the courtroom, and earning a reputation as one of the most respected attorneys in Minnesota and the country. “Ron Schutz is exactly the kind of candidate Republicans need in this race, and exactly the kind of Attorney General Minnesota needs right now,” said Republican Party of Minnesota Chairman Alex Plechash. “Keith Ellison has failed Minnesotans on crime, fraud, public safety, and accountability. 🚨 BREAKING: Angie Craig (D) will skip the Minnesota DFL endorsing convention and opt to go directly to the primary. Peggy Flanagan (D) is now effectively the DFL Endorsed candidate for U.S. Senate in Minnesota. This is significant because we are set to see a bloody primary on the Democrat’s side of the isle going into August. If Republicans manage to endorse Michele Tafoya this weekend in Duluth, we will have a significant fundraising advantage going into November with Democrats in a circular squad. Don’t blow this one, Minnesota Republicans.

The police chiefs from these three cities recently met with Somali parents and community leaders to talk about ways to prevent Somali youth from engaging in criminal activities in their areas.
