The minimum wage and the eight-hour work day changed everything for workers. And it was right here that those rights were won. For more than 150 years, the Victorian Trades Hall has stood up for workers - not just in Victoria, but across the globe. It’s now been nominated for the World Heritage List and that’s exactly where it belongs.

Protecting work from home is a simple change that will mean the world to Victorian families. Picking kids up from school, fewer cars on the road, local businesses with more lunchtime trade. Yes the micromanagers will hate it, so I know the Allan Govt is on a winner #springst

@UptheBaggers If anything proves the pressure rating stat is nonsense it’s the idea that Carlton’s was 234 in the second term

@3AW693 Some poor volunteer has just got an address mixed up with someone who requested a sign. This isn't some big conspiracy. Also this is categorically not the member for Corangamite.

Craggy was the first very senior union official to spend time with me when I joined the movement. I’ll be forever grateful for his words of wisdom at La Notte. Later I had the privilege of working with him at Trades Hall. He was a fierce advocate. 👍 bless your heart, Craggy 👍

With sadness, we recognise the passing of comrade David Cragg, Craggy. David was the Assis. Sec of Trades, a THLI Trustee, proud AWU organiser, ALP true believer & labour historian. Will miss his cheerful double-thumbs-up & “God Bless You”. Rest in power brother #ausunions

@Sammy__Edmund Sam should we suspend Taylor for recklessly running back into the contest and making contact high too? It should have been a free against Cameron but you can’t suspend for pushes.

Another interesting week for MRO Michael Christian. The AFL have thus far resisted entering new territory by suspending players who cause injury by pushing in marking contests. Lalor, Owens, Vandermeer and now Briggs concussed or injured after being pushed in the last few weeks. How many more until they blink? If at all? @1116sen

In 1851, voting was restricted to males of over 21 years who owned a substantial amount of property - which would no doubt make someone like James Newbury feel right at home. #springst

This morning, @JacintaAllanMP spoke to @RossAndRussel about Bendigo being the birthplace of Victorian democracy, following the 1853 red ribbon rebellion. The Premier’s new fact does stand in contrast to our State’s actual history - our first Legislative Council met in 1851.

Today Vic Govt recommitted to releasing Psychological Health Regulations. This should come into force by end of year. This welcome step will bring us inline with other states, giving workplaces directions on how to address psychosocial risks to keep workers safe. #springst
