I do not think the EFL have been friends to Sheffield Wednesday during any of this process.
They allowed the situation to go on with the previous owner.
They have shown very little appetite for supporting the team to be competitive. We will almost certainly get relegated with single digits, but in truth, we could get relegated with a minus number.
And now they seem to have qualms with gambling. Let's remember that the next time we watch a match or go into a ground, because all you see is gambling adverts
I don't understand how an owner can be fit and proper and not have any history of payment issues in the Spanish and Scottish leagues, but not be fit and proper in England.
I've always liked the premise of the Bord deal, based on sustainability and modern recruitment methods.
The devil will always be in the detail on how much money they have and are prepared to put in.
But I don't trust the EFL at all to make the best decision for SWFC.

There is a certain irony in the EFL having concerns about a gambling income based owner owning a club in the sky bet championship

Qesser Zuhrah has been waiting 14 hours for urgent medical care. HMP Bronzefield is refusing to transfer her to hospital.
I have contacted David Lammy and Wes Streeting, urging immediate intervention. There has been no response.
She just needs an ambulance.
If she dies, it will be on their hands.

@aroundgroundsss @gaglennon All fair points but still better than Chansiri. Don’t forget we aren’t choosing a new owner they are choosing us.

We don’t need a even keel. Money and big money need investing in the ground and training ground. Ashley won’t do that. Ashley only invests in what he knows he can get back.
This is his time at Newcastle
Mike Ashley's tenure at Newcastle United was widely criticized for a lack of ambition, poor management, constant fan alienation, and prioritizing Sports Direct's brand over the club's sporting success, leading to two relegations, a "zombie club" perception, and a breakdown with club legends like Alan Shearer and Rafa Benítez, despite his initial promise of fun and trophies. Fans felt he treated the club as a cash cow for his retail business, neglecting infrastructure and player investment while creating an atmosphere of constant frustration and broken promises.
Key Criticisms:
•Lack of Investment & Ambition: Despite claims of fun, money was spent sporadically and begrudgingly, with a focus on "ticking over" rather than challenging for honors, making the club feel like a "zombie club".
•Strained Relationships with Legends: He alienated iconic figures like Alan Shearer and manager Rafa Benítez, damaging the club's connection to its history and fanbase.
•Managerial Instability: A revolving door of managers, often hired and fired with little long-term planning, contributed to poor results and relegation.
•Commercial Conflicts (Sports Direct): Extensive Sports Direct branding, stadium naming attempts (after Sports Direct), and prioritizing his retail interests over the club's merchandising created deep resentment.
•Poor On-Pitch Performance: Presided over two relegations and an era of uninspiring football, a far cry from the club's traditional status.
•Broken Promises: His initial promise to bring fun and trophies was never delivered, with fans experiencing constant disappointment and a loss of hope.
•Disregard for Club Tradition: Actions like attempting to rename St James' Park were seen as deeply disrespectful to the club's heritage and the city.

If Mike Ashley is the saviour then our hopes and dreams are set bloody low that is for sure

Our Sheffield Wednesday fan survey has only been up a few hours and we're already into a four-figure response. Thanks to those who have taken it.
Only takes a couple of minutes. Keep them coming.
