You smell like peace— because every time I breathe you in, I feel all my burdens fall away. Calling it a breath of fresh air would be an understatement.

And your hugs… so heavenly they could heal the sick. The way you bury your head in my chest— I know you hear my heartbeat racing. That gentle squeeze from your tiny hands somehow carries the biggest comfort.

There’s this look on your face when you sleep that makes me jealous— what could you possibly be dreaming about to look that peaceful? I want to be the only one who makes you look like that.

And when you fall asleep beside me, it’s the most peaceful thing to watch— your hair all over the place, you somehow taking up all the space even though you’re as small as a tequila shot.

So big that every time I see it, I just want to plant a kiss on it. Five-foot-something, a dark glass of perfection, with a smile so gorgeous you look like something straight out of a fairytale.

I could hear drums in my head, a rhythm only angels could play— and that’s when I knew: you ARE an angel. Then there’s that forehead— that little vein that shows when I get on your nerves, or when you throw your cute little tantrums.

It all paused, just to marvel at beauty in its purest form. Piercing dark brown eyes, staring straight into my soul, woke something I thought I had buried inside me for good. It felt like Jesus Christ calling Lazarus out of the tomb.

My short, big-eyed, big-foreheaded princess, I can still remember vividly the first day you looked up at me— your eyes huge, wide open, the prettiest things I had ever seen. They say time waits for no man, but that day, in that very moment, everything—including time—stopped.
