well it's done! We moved five 7th grade classes, about 120 kids total, through this visit and short unit on historical fiction. Then they all got to choose a book. Can you guess what the most popular eras were?

One thing I offered that has been a huge hit is for the historical fiction unit I'll chunk the collection into eras. Time-consuming and imperfect but they looooove it and it makes browsing for the kids way more engaging. Also tells me where I need to work on collection, yikes.

@dsantat We have a propane tank (we live in an unincorporated semi-rural area), and we pay to fill the tank every 16-18 months, less than $300 per fill so far. Very definitely less expensive than electric stove for us.

Don’t know about you but I weighed the cost of ordering out as opposed to cooking with my gas stove after seeing my huge gas bill the last month

@GailSimone When I was a young kid (ages 3-6), I loved Bugs Bunny cartoons, Popeye, Huckleberry Hound, and Deputy Dawg cartoons. They were all shown in the afternoons in the San Francisco area in the late 1950s-early 1960s.

My question of the day…what was your favorite cartoon as a kid? Not prime time stuff, a show aimed at kids.

@beatonna When I travel by air, I pack extra undies and at least one change of clothes in my carry-on. Can't tell you how many times checked luggage didn't arrive with me and in different countries, too.

Today, January 17, made 17 months no smoking.
Feels great, but those cravings are still there.
