Remember parking/ CAZ rely on using an app too. Wonder how many ppl fined cos app won’t work 🤯

@wonderfullyarty @landatthebottom @peterg The project is for technology proof, not personal purchasing preferences, so which phone service you buy is not something the project can advise on. However, I’ve (peter) live in bath for 20 yrs making comms tech better and if you dm us we can fix a time & place. Happy to share.

@TeletResearch @landatthebottom @peterg I don’t want a monthly contract. I do PAYG cos that what suits me best. Removing choices from me isn’t ‘better’ for me. Not at all. Why wasn’t all this info made available to residents before the trail started? 🤯

@wonderfullyarty @landatthebottom @peterg Because those which will work (incl major manufacturers like apple) will work, and we are supporting other major manufacturers to get their software working. So at the end of the programme, many more will have been tested in a live environment.

@landatthebottom @wonderfullyarty @peterg It was always known that the handset selection is limited and we are still debugging handsets every day. We have a series of events you can come to between now and march 25 word5g.uk/events/ so premature to declare failure!

I hear that numerous models of Android phones that are 5G standalone compatible have been discovered not to work in this trial. True?

@wonderfullyarty @landatthebottom @peterg This is down to commercial decisions by your operator. Our testing has found that some are better than others. Ee works well and our project partner iq mobile is based locally so if you switched you would be supporting a local business working to solve these challenges.

Lucky I didn’t need to call anyone as a disabled woman who often needs to call for support/ doctor/ taxis/ friends/ family when I’m in town #Exclusion

@wonderfullyarty @landatthebottom @peterg The trial is a “5g standalone” trial so necessarily needs phones that support that. BANES have an allocation of devices that can be applied for and used once initial testing is over in the event there is a need and the trialist doesn’t have the right device.

@CaptainHippo @giffgaff Hi yes this is. Please tell your provider they need to categorise us correctly. We don’t generate any chargeable events so they would have no reason to charge you.
