@PalestineCultu1 Sort of. Before Israel, there were Ottoman Empire clans and towns, but no nation or overall people. So yes: there were Gazans, Hebronites, that were majority Muslim. And Jerusalem was majority Jewish. But most land unowned/vacant. Israel is now a real nation there.

The Iran war has been a disaster and the peace deal will be way worse than the Obama 2015 deal. But - Trump has contained the disaster and avoided the escalation trap. If he can also avoid the sunk cost trap and land a peace deal based on the facts on the ground, we have a very interesting setup for a new, more sustainable security infrastructure in the ME. Israel and Saudi will have to assume more responsibility in the face of a US disengagement from the ME. This will be very positive for the ME in my opinion.
