I moved to SF a month ago. Something shifted immediately. These are sacred grounds. The energy of the people who built the internet, who built the infrastructure that lets one guy with no employees build a platform, a movement, you can feel it. I barely go out. Barely date. Don’t do conferences or investor dinners. I just sit in friends’ offices with engineers and build. It’s not networking. It’s something in the air. Thank you San Francisco. Thank you ancestors. We’re so back.

I still don’t fully understand this shift, but I think it’s why, after doing tech policy in the Clinton Admin and Obama I, I was reluctant to go back in during Obama II or Biden, despite many friends doing good work with good motivations. A Spidey Sense something was off.

AI is still the only tech in modern human history where people have to talk you into it. No one had to make a hard sell on indoor plumbing, electricity, air travel, or even the smartphone. Humans happily bought in. How many Americans *want* to pay hundreds a month for AI tools?

So many small accounts I helped early on have blown up—and never looked back. So I promised if I ever hit 50K, I’d give credit to my early mentors. The first BIG social media influencer who invited me into his home (complete with a stereo wall made of Russian space equipment) to break bread and share secrets back in the early Facebook glory days?
