I despair that we cannot be ourselves in our own home. We are de facto forbidden from making beautiful buildings. Beautiful art and stories. Beautiful clothes. All in our American way. We are de facto forbidden from behaving like men, and women. No more tussles in the parking lot. No more knitting clubs. No more honor. No more loveliness. And none of it. None. of. it. is because the 'minorities' aren't allowed to do American things the American way. It's only because they don't want to, and because they don't want to, we're not allowed to. Because their desire to not do American things apparently means to them that they're systematically discriminated against, as opposed to what it actually is: they don't even want to try. They have pushed so hard to quash us in our own home, that now it's the default fundamental assumption of much of our nation: "minorities must get special treatment, special privileges, to do things in foreign ways, because they don't like being American in America, and of course that's normal and good." I'm sick of it. We all know anyone with half a brain in close proximity to the foreign behaviors is sick of it. We ought to be able to advocate for ourselves, in our own country, for our own ways. That we even have to advocate for ourselves at all is so beyond belief, I can't even find the words to fully describe how crazy it is. Because it's insane we're not allowed to be American in our own damn country.

Well, in my particular instance, it was challenging THE PASTOR on things he was saying, that he was claiming were "just what it says in the text!" And I was gently confronting him, because no, it's not in the Bible text. @Teltae @AI_EmeraldApple I do not think Elden Ring is simple tho. That game is massive and gives almost no hand holding. What he's trying to do is justify why those other games scored really high even among critics, like it's some hidden difficulty factor that CD has that ER doesn't.

Crimson Desert really has become the ultimate filter between "gamers" and "tourists". Tourists like the hand holding, the yellow paint, the obvious click here, go there... Gamers like the friction, the puzzles, and the "what ifs"... It's like anime going mainstream, where stories and topics have become far more "tame". Ever since games have become far more mainstream than in the 2000's, games have become simpler, and gameplay mechanisms much more obvious. In the 90's, many games were incredibly difficult, and that's the point. It wasn't the kind of reaction/combat gameplay like hollow knight, or elden ring. Things were obtuse, no quest markers, and where you had to go next was not obvious. You had to think and reason about what the developers were trying to do. Today, tourists encounter a simple puzzle that most gamers have zero problem with, and they crash out and quit. I think this is why Crimson Desert won't ever gain the massive audience it could get because the bar of entry is a little high.
