We’ve set up a new Fuel Supply Taskforce, led by Anthea Harris.
Working with states and territories, the taskforce will make sure fuel gets where it’s needed most.
It will bring together experts and industry to protect our fuel supply, and make sure we have the latest information on supply and demand.

We’re building a stronger, more resilient Australia - our way.
By investing in our people, ideas and industry, we’re making sure the economy works for every Australian.
In a globalised world, a fair deal for consumers depends on a level playing field for Aussie businesses.
That means backing local businesses to compete and grow.
That’s what I spoke about this morning at the AADA breakfast.

BREAKING: Labor is putting petrol companies on notice with bigger penalties for misconduct and more scrutiny and surveillance, and shoring up fuel supply.
Labor won’t cop big fuel corporates and servos treating Australians like mugs.
That's why we're doubling penalties for misleading conduct - now up to $100M - ramping up surveillance of suspicious price spikes, and improving coordination of fuel deliveries, especially in regional areas.
Australia is not immune to global economic uncertainty, but the industry is on notice not to exploit it, and that's why these measures will help make sure you are getting fair prices for fuel.

Parliament didn’t look like this when I was first elected.
Back then, the Abbott Government was 18% women with only one in Cabinet.
13 years later, we have the first majority-women government and a majority-women Cabinet too. #auspol

Australia and Canada see the world in similar ways.
We’re both middle powers that believe in working with others.
That means closer cooperation on investment and economic security, in a world of global instability.
Great to have you in Parliament today, @MarkJCarney

@r3tarddownunder @SenatorPayman Greedy little pigs they are

Imagine being so retarded that you advocate for everyday people who already pay income tax, that they should have to pay MORE money to the government if they sell their investments. Capital gains tax should be abolished not increased @SenatorPayman.

If Pauline Hanson had it her way:
- migrants would no longer get priority social housing
- Australia would no longer be part of the UNs refugee program
- Australia would massively cut its migrant intake, effectively to net zero
- anyone convicted of a crime who isn't a citizen would be deported
- visa overstayers and illegal immigrants would no longer go into detention, they'd get deported
- there would be zero chance of Isis brides coming back to Australia
- the burqa would be banned in public

Mark my words.
Australia’s cost-of-living crisis didn’t start in Tehran — it started in Canberra.
It won’t take a crystal ball to predict what the Treasurer will say when Labor hands down its budget in May.
Iran.
They’ll blame the war in the Middle East for higher fuel prices and rising costs.
But Australians know the truth.
Under Labor we’ve seen:
• higher inflation
• higher energy prices
• more taxes
• more red tape
When government spending explodes and economic discipline disappears, families pay the price.
And when things go wrong under Labor, there’s always someone else to blame.
First it was Covid. Then the Coalition. Then Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. Then US tariffs.
Now it will be Iran.
But the real problem isn’t overseas — it’s Labor’s spending, taxes, regulation and energy policy here at home.
The more Labor spends, the more prices inflate.
And the more Australians pay — at the checkout, at the bowser, and on their mortgage.
Instead of understanding basic economics, Treasurer Chalmers keeps adding fuel to the economic bin fire he set alight.
And that fuel is Labor’s unrestrained spending, excessive regulation, onerous taxation, and net zero energy ideology.
