I passed my PhD viva on Friday! It was a joy to be examined by the brilliant @BallasterRos and Michael Dobson, whose work I have long admired. Wish I had taken photos of us all celebrating, but as you can see I was smiling too big to keep my eyes open

Both feature magic and dreams, governmental structures disregarded, powerful marriages (and women), and unruly nature, but deploy them quite differently. And it’s always nice to end on a comedy… esp heading into (mid)summer
