So proud of all the Abiomed employees and customers that improved the standard of care for Cardiogenic Shock worldwide! As I travel around Massachusetts, I constantly meet people that have had their lives impacted by this team and the Impella Heart pumps. Patients First!

Now officially recommended by the American College of Cardiology & American Heart Association. Impella, a heart pump built in Massachusetts got confirmed by the world’s top New England Medical Journal: more lives saved and live almost 2 extra years. Here’s why that matters 👇

Other devices that were commonly used? The two leading medical authorities downgraded them. They found no survival benefit. Impella is now the only mechanical heart pump with gold-standard proof that it saves lives in this situation.

They said the survival benefit outweighs the risk. 📄 acc.org/Latest-in-Card… This is the first therapy in cardiogenic shock that has ever shown improvement in survival in over 25 years.

Based on this evidence, the American College of Cardiology and American Heart Association — the two organizations that set the standard for heart care in America — officially upgraded their recommendation for Impella in 2025.

It gets better. Long-term follow-up published in 2025 showed the benefit actually GROWS over time. At up to 10 years, Impella patients lived an average of 600 extra days. That’s almost 2 more years with their families. 📄 nejm.org/doi/full/10.10…

Patients who got Impella were significantly more likely to survive. At 6 months, 13 more people out of every 100 were alive compared to standard treatment. For every 8 patients treated, 1 additional life was saved. That’s a big deal in medicine.

For years, doctors debated. Independent researchers in Europe ran a gold-standard clinical trial — to prove the treatment works — over 10 years. The results were published in the most respected medical journal in the world. 📄 nejm.org/doi/full/10.10…

Every year, thousands Americans have a massive heart attack so severe their heart can’t pump enough to keep them alive. It’s called cardiogenic shock. Impella — the world’s smallest heart pump — goes in the heart, does the pumping while the heart rests and recovers.

The political establishment is incurring more debt for MA than ever before, and that’s creating a cost problem that’s wreaking havoc on everything. It’s time for a new kind of governor to step in and turn around Massachusetts. #massachusetts #aaok #teamminogue #mapoli

🚨 WOW. Brown University student Alex Shieh previously EVISCERATED the school's administrators for having a $46 million deficit, despite surging costs for students. They pay $90K+ PER YEAR. Alex Shieh: "What about the kids who weren't born on third base?! [...] Brown is on track to run a $46 million DEFICIT this year. WHERE is all the money going?" "I'll tell you where it's going. It's going into an empire of administrative bloat and bureaucracy! Brown employs 3,805 full time non-instructional staff for just 7,229 undergrads. That's one administrator for every two students." "This isn't education. This is bloat paid for on the backs of students and families who are mortgaging their futures for a shot at a better life!" HE'S SPOT-ON.
