I'm thankful to have been given emergency accommodation by @lambeth_council with no leaks & working electrics but not so keen on the reception committee! And who thought that blue paint was a good idea?? Hopefully they will fix my flat quickly so I can go back home again soon!

@lambeth_council @SthLondonPress My housing officer has been hearing my complaints since 2019 and is fully aware of the court order awarding damages against you and telling you to fix it! You don't seem to care unless I publicise it on Twitter!

I have had no end of problems and had to take Lambeth Council to court but even though they were told they had to fix the leak, they have done nothing. My neighbours told me it has been like this for much longer than the 2 years I've lived here @lambeth_council @SthLondonPress

I suffer from recurrent depression and had to give up work due to the fact I couldn't cope with living like this for 2 years. I live here with my 2 kids.

I'm attempting to highlight how this massive landlord treats it's tenants as there are many of us in this situation

My lawyer has been pushing for them to do what they are supposed to, but the Landlord is the local government so they don't care when they get financial penalties. It's not coming out of their own pockets. It's all the local people who have to pay in taxes

Contact that citizen advisory citizensadvice.org.uk If you have a court order, then there ought to be penalties for the landlord. Imo you should be entitled to call a plumber to start working on this.

@rewtoetzi @sarah_angliss @lambeth_council @Keir_Starmer @JonAshworth @AngelaRayner @asthmauk Plus the area the flats are on is prime Real Estate, so some of us think they don't want to fix them because the land is too valuable. They have a record og running down estates, making them impossible to live in and getting developers in to level the flats & build 4 private sale

@TenantLambeth well there is always fixing the leak then painting.

@dprovenzanosc Unless you have some magic paint that fixes leaks you want to educate me about

@TenantLambeth Now that you've quit work, what stops you from buying a gallon of paint and fixing it?

@dprovenzanosc It was freshly painted 2 years ago. They didn't fix the leaking pipe. The water constantly runs down the walls. Not sure how re-painting it will dry out the walls, ceiling and floors or fix wherever all the water is coming from.

It's not possible to dry it out even on a hot day with all the windows open. It's not just a one time leak, it's constant. The walls, ceiling d floors are soaked. Downstairs gets it running into their flat too. It's been like this for years

If you can't get help right away, get at it: Get some heavy duty mold killer spray, or use some combination of vinegar, bleach, and ammonia. Windows open, fan on - it's gonna stink. Spray like mad, then go with your kid hiking/playground.
