“WTU’s primary focus right now is on building community and fostering trusting relationships among tenants.” Writes Emma Anderson in her SLUG interview with @TenantsU. Read the full interview here: slugmag.com/community/peop…

The tiny home village pushed by @slcmayor @erinforslc is an exercise in turning homelessness into an economic resource, discouraging real solutions.

Salt Lake City is working with The Other Side Academy on The Other Side Village, a housing pilot program to support those experiencing homelessness, located at 1850 W Indiana Ave.

@SLCNewLiberals @slcmayor The working class waiting for developers to give us ‘housing abundance’ at their own expense

English

@slcmayor We need much bolder zoning and permitting reform to move strongly towards housing abundance.

It's critical for everyone to understand Salt Lake City's commitment to lowering the cost of living in our capital city!

Here's what a new five year housing plan from SLC officials looks like 👇kslnewsradio.com/2011857/ @slcmayor @slcCouncil #slchousing #AffordableHousing housing

@slcmayor @crabfinger Your redevelopment agency is funneling millions into luxury housing and displacing whole neighborhoods.
You are on record very recently (on a local podcast) speaking against public housing.
Just own it.
English

@crabfinger State law prohibits the City from enacting rent control policies.
While we can’t do that, there are ways we can achieve similar goals and we are working toward some of them, like funding rental assistance programs, community land trusts, funding legal aid for evictions, etc.
English

@errrands_ @801Cowabunga We can get you in touch with the Slc district organizers. WTU is just spreading the message. When does your association negotiate your COLA?

@slcmayor Clarify what ‘city-led’ means, you’re full of shit
English

Cities across the U.S. continue to face a critical shortage of affordable housing. Our investments in affordable housing units since 2020 have netted the largest increase in Salt Lake's history. We're committed to lowering the cost of living in our capital city. This month, the City Council will consider a combined $20 million in city-led affordable housing.

Utah will begin reviewing strategic locations for the placement of four new dust monitors to capture wind events over the Great Salt Lake's exposed bed to determine the levels of arsenic and other pollutants carried to the Wasatch Front. ksl.com/article/505977…

@TaylorWAnderson You should post the AMI requirements laid out in the overlay, and compare that against the average income of the top 10 most common jobs in the valley.
The overlay is a handout to developers and it is a good thing if it dies (even at the hands of the worst people in the city)
English

@TaylorWAnderson The fight in Yalecrest is luxury single family homes vs luxury condos, poor people have nothing to do with it.
English

@TaylorWAnderson To act like this overlay is going to change anything is pretty dishonest but whatever I guess you gotta make a living.
English

@TaylorWAnderson Rich suburbanites can get fucked, but this ‘affordable housing overlay’ is a naked attempt to circumvent basic democratic input on how communities are planned. The plan allows them to do this if they provide housing affordable to people who make between 60k to 80k

@slcmayor @slcrda The city spends 3x+ on loans for for luxury units than they do for deeply affordable units.
When the city says 'affordable' they mean '80% AMI' which translates to about 1300 for 1 bedroom.
The RDA should be defunded, and all funding should be instead placed into public housing
