Henry David Thoreau once said that the price of anything is the amount of life you exchange for it. I think about that a lot more as I've gotten older.

My wife watched me assemble multiple kits over several months. Showed her all of the different factions for 40k and AoS to give her a sense of options. Absolutely zero interest. Polite attentiveness that I'm showing her stuff I'm into. I sat her down to watch an intro to 40k lore video "Hey this is actually pretty cool" She's now wanting to build her own army.

Once again, tourists don't understand that nobody would give a shit about 40k if it wasn't for the lore. There are plenty of other wargames out there with cheaper miniatures and better rulesets. The 40k IP is the lore, because it's the main selling point.

@Mangan150 Facts. It was only when I ditched prescriptions and started eating clean and exercising that I saw a reduction in my mental health symptoms. Been off meds for 4 years, doing better than ever. I suffered needlessly for almost 2 decades because I didn't second guess my doctors.

For 5 years Michael Saylor told the world he would never sell Bitcoin. Last night that changed. On Strategy’s Q1 2026 earnings call, Saylor admitted his company will probably start selling. This is the complete opposite of what he has been preaching since 2020. Strategy holds 818,334 Bitcoin at an average cost of $75,537 per coin. That’s $61.8 billion deployed into Bitcoin since August 2020. Nearly 6 years of relentless buying. Bitcoin is now around $81,000. Their entire stack is up around 7% in almost 6 years. That’s roughly 1% per year. The S&P 500 returns about 10% per year on average. Bitcoin itself is up 700%+ over the same period. Strategy bought Bitcoin the entire way up and still barely broke even. This is what happens when you buy aggressively at every price with no discipline. You drag your average cost higher and higher until you have no margin of safety left. And now they have a real problem: Strategy issued a preferred stock called STRC that pays an 11.5% annual dividend. That’s $1.5 billion in dividend obligations they have to fund every year, no matter what Bitcoin does. So when Bitcoin dropped from $87K to $68K in Q1, Strategy posted a $12.5 billion net loss. The largest in the company’s history. Now Saylor has to sell the very thing he built his entire brand on never selling, just to pay dividends on a financial product his own company created. When we start buying BTC again, we will share it here. Turn on post notifications so you don’t miss our alerts, this is VERY important. A lot of people will wish they followed us sooner.

@PhilosopherWar Wow. I knew of the game but never looked into the models. I love the true scale primaris models (despite how plain they are), but the sheer level of gothic swagger 30k minis has just blew my mind. RIP my bank account, I now have a second army to build and collect 😂

@PhilosopherWar They look great! Are those 30k models? I might need to do a Horus Heresy BA army after this, I love the aesthetic.

I love doing conversion work, it's been a blast rediscovering it with these new (to me) primaris models. And if anyone needs a banner, it's these guys.

@aincomeinvestor This would be like starting the assignment the night before it’s due. It’s not too late, and you COULD pull it off. But you’ve made things unnecessarily harder on yourself.

Really excited about RAZORWIRE being a mixed media TTRPG (Human Art, AI, Photography, Sculpture). I love the item cards from the Dark Age CCG, so I'm going to steal that idea for some of the weapon sheets for my game. I want to aesthetic to be very clashy, messy and weird.

After sinking a dozen hours into this, I can safely rule this out as a creative endeavor. The tools exist, but I do not have the staying power to learn computer game development. Maybe when I retire. Which leaves me with the question of what to pursue as my next large project? Maybe a ttrpg. Not sure yet, but I feel the itch to create something.
Tenebraeth@Tenebraeth

I decided to try and create an old school isometric rpg, and have spent the last week exploring godot as a game engine, how to create pixel art, and thinking through what would be necessary in terms of design, art, technicals, and writing. It's incredibly overwhelming. But it's also exciting. The tools exist for even a layperson like me to create something as sophisticated as a video game. It just requires a lot of dedication, work and time. I have a history of abandoned hobby projects over the past 30 years, so maybe it's unlikely to go anywhere. But if you never try, what's the point? Hope to figure out a plan of attack soon, and start an account here to document the journey. Thanks to @RazorwireRPG for the inspiration - from creating his own rpg, and his posts about OG Fallout, which made me think of how I would approach something like this.

This is a skewing of the word justice which was done intentionally, and predominantly around the 1960s. Call me a conspiracy theorist if you like but documentation ties it to Marxist activities: •Antonio Gramsci’s Prison Notebooks •Herbert Marcuse One-Dimensional Man and Repressive Tolerance •Black Panthers Ten-Point Program

Most people think of philosophy as an abstraction that doesn't touch the real world, but they're wrong. Most real world problems are philosophy problems, and most philosophy problems are "giving things the wrong names". For example, if you call feral drug addicts "homeless people", then you can't solve the problem. You can only buy more houses for feral drug addicts to destroy. In this case, we called the police and courts the "justice system". But they're not. They can't be the justice system. The function of a justice system would be to give everyone what they deserve. Now, I deserve a hundred million dollars, a private Caribbean island, and a foot massage from Lauren Bacall in her prime, but I don't see the "justice" system lifting a finger to correct any of this, do you? No, what we are supposed to have is a public safety system. The function of a public safety system is to keep the public and their property safe. If we understood that, we wouldn't care about what criminals deserve. We would care how likely they are to do it again. Or something worse. In a public safety system, retardation and mental illness are not migrating factors. They are the opposite. Because they mean that the criminal is more likely to pose a future threat. We all understand this. We all understand that the feral retard who stabs strangers on the train for being White and beautiful is a worse person than the man who murders his wife and her lover when he catches them in the act. Not because of some abstract calculus of moral agency, of who is disadvantaged and who isn't, but because one is certainly going to murder more people if he can, while the other is a lot less likely to. We've known for centuries, if not millennia, that it's the same small percentage of people doing all the robbing, raping, and murdering, over and over and over again. And we've known for centuries that if you physically remove them from society, that's 100% effective in stopping them from doing it again. The only hurdle is philosophical. Call it a "justice" system, and you have to argue endlessly about morality and redemption, and then some leftie thug-hugger weaponizes your own Christianity against you. Call it public safety, and you confine the argument to likelihood of reoffense. Then you are in the realm of statistics. Which you can compute. It all starts with naming things correctly, according to their actual nature.
