@TerekJudi @Spectacles “a 12 month commitment required” It would be good if this was modified to end when the consumer version is available and able to be canceled if the consumer version is pushed out.

Lenses are spatial computing applications. Calling them apps would be selling them short. Just like we didn’t call mobile apps mobile programs. New platforms demand a new paradigm. Spectacles offer a robust platform for experimenting with AR and AI. Apply to get started (spectacles.com) and a consumer version is coming 2026.

@TerekJudi I agree. I want to develop for the Snap Spectacles, but my gut tells me people will want to control the glasses with a resting hand as well. Like when you’re in bed on your phone for example. Ideally, there is only one device though.

@JohannesTscharn No decision on that yet. But we are committed to supporting our developer community as the platform transitions to be a consumer facing product to enable you to ship on Specs 2026.

Awesome! Realistically speaking, do you think the Snap Spectacles will one day take off even though there isn’t a neural wristband attachment? I know it has hand tracking, but I feel like people will also want gesture controls through subtle movements when scrolling, etc. There will still be a need for 2D UI stuff as well as 3D spatial computing.
