@realalu Sponsored Fulani herdsmen militia have killed Benue citizens. This much is collaborated by Miyetti Allah, the umbrella cattle breeders body who alluded in a Jan 14, 2018 press rellease that these killings are ostensibly in retaliation to the killing of "2m" cows.

@ChidiOdinkalu These unfortumately are issues we wish away at our collective risk as a nation and the future looks everything but promising.

@realalu @TerAkase Benue killings have been recurrent in Logo, Guma, Buruku, Gwer West/East, Makurdi, Tarka, K/Ala, Ukum, Kwande and Agatu LGAs. Logo/Guma have only been the most recently attacked and unconnected to political actors. Such skewed narratives only evade the root cause of the crisis.
English

@realalu @TerAkase Logo is a gateway local govt which is also bordered by the river Benue and its tributaries. This coupled with its agrarian vegitation and fertile landscape makes it attractive to herders and pastoralists alike; unfortunately too, not without attendant hostilities and destruction.

@realalu Recall that police personnel were also slaughtered in their line of duty while protecting defenseless Benue farmers. Are they so lost as to who the culprits were? What then remains the fate of ordinary Nigerians?
English

@realalu The Nigeria Police is responsible for the protection of the citizenry and enforcement of law and other. They should be decisive where culpability is established and not resort to lame pointing of fingers. At whom?
English

@realalu The tepid attitude of government in the face of incessant killings by Fulani herdsmen has sadly provoked the self-defense debate which is fast gaining currency amongst helpless Nigerians. The protection of lives is a primary responsibility of government.
English

@realalu Truly, the spate of continued killings and obvious hopelessness of government and security actors to protect Nigerians and particularly the people of Benue remains a sad commentary on our corporate existence as a nation.

@bayoadenek @seunokin @channelstv When a government resorts to blaming the opposition and the past for its inability to deliver on a mandate it had campaigned with bogus promises, it is only a clear indication that it has outlived its welcome. Nigerians voted out PDP with great expectations.

@bukolasaraki @NGRSenate Human life is in deed sacred and the protection of same a sacrosanct obligation of government. I salute you and the Senate for your resolve in the face of seemingly tepid response from a presidency that is everything but decisive in arresting the carnage in Benue.
English

@seunokin @channelstv Sadly, this submision coming from a no less ruling APC top notch underscores the the glaring failure of the party to serve Nigerians the much promised change and the attendant democracy dividends. It is a sad commentary on the tragic failure of government.
English

@CTVpolitics @seunokin I do agree with the allegation of obvious complacency from the presidency. More alarming is the seeming posture of criminal silence from the president who ordinarily is bond on oath to protect the lives of Nigerians irrespective of ethnicity or religion.
