I have been to a lot of countries. The airport staff in all of them were locals and looked like the local society. Why did Canada make the decision years ago to have all airport staff foreign?

@suchnerve You’d need 20-30 panels for this to be reasonable. Not absurd, but a lot

EVs are actually better than gasoline cars for extreme rural areas for a very specific reason: you can generate electricity anywhere, but you have to have fuel shipped in. Putting solar out in the yard is far, far, FAR easier than driving hours to the nearest fuel station.

We cannot accurately measure 100 year spans from 1, 10, or 100 million years ago. Our science is based on modeling from the same people who prodicted peak oil in 1970 & an impending ice age. The fact is that we don't know for sure what the rates were back then because, as you point out, geological scales are in the thousands of years, not decades or centuries.

Even the Right Wing Financial Times has admitted that not only can Solar, Wind and batteries supply all of the world's power all of the time. It is also now the cheapest option by far.
