My state has a proportionate force law for traffic that makes it legal for a driver under threat to use proportionate responses to escape the situation. It's similar to Florida's law. That's good because my automatic reaction to threat is to take off although I've never done it in a car.

In Florida, if this happens, you have the legal right to drive through them to escape for your safety.
