All AIs start worse than a child and end up beating the best human. The question is not where are we today but how fast is the rate of learning? A Siri cofounder/AI pioneer (Tom Gruber) taught me that while noting that Google was learning faster and if allowed to continue would doom Apple’s AI. That was a decade ago. Today Tesla employees brag its AI is learning faster than any other. I predict that because of last weekend @openAI will start learning faster. The team is certainly not recruitable anymore. That ship has sailed. That will lead @OpenAI into competition with NVIDIA and others. Who will fund the ultimate tech war? Over getting a robot into your home? Augmented reality glasses into your face? Committees of assistants? Autonomous vehicle sharing? Saudi oil money is one choice. Remember what @sama was doing right before he got fired: raising money from the Saudi’s.
