The Indian families I know who own gas stations pool money together with 6-12 adults in the family, they work 12-16 hour days & reinvest most of the profits to acquire businesses. And the “why not stay in India?” point ignores that America offers things that people value more than lower cost of living. Things like scale, infrastructure, financing, legal protections, consumer spending power and long-term opportunity for their children.

It is safer to be a white man who just killed multiple people than it is to be a Black person during a traffic stop.That's how grounded racism is. Black people during traffic stops can face very harsh or even deadly outcomes over small issues. On the other hand, white people who commit very serious crimes, even mass killings, are arrested calmly, alive and taken into custody. If that truth makes people uncomfortable, good. It should.

I don't care what George Floyd did in the past, or what drugs he was on that right wingers try to use to justify it. Cops should not just kill random men because of their race. Floyd's killer had no idea who he was or what he had done, he killed him because he was black. #BLM

I'm not the first person to notice this. But amazing how much anti-Indian hate there is on this site, typified by claims they are somehow monopolizing the tech industry, discriminating against whites, etc. It's very similar to traditional anti-Semitic tropes, and is equally baseless. I've dealt extensively with Indians in academia, and some in tech (my parents are both tech industry veterans) and there is no real evidence to support these claims. They - like traditional anti-Semitism, are also based on a flawed zero-sum view of the economy that underlies a lot of ethno-nationalism and bigotry, as well as a lot of awful far-left ideology: reason.com/volokh/2026/04…
